So this is our non-conference schedule:

Wednesday 11/25 Stephen F. Austin at Mohegan Sun
Thursday 11/26 Towson at Mohegan Sun
Saturday 11/28 South Florida at Mohegan Sun
Sunday 11/29 Temple at Mohegan Sun
Wednesday 12/2 Seton Hall
Friday 12/4 at Boston College
Saturday 12/19 at Western Kentucky

And we're looking for one more home game

Finals start on the 16th, so there seems to be plenty of room to add a game or two for week of the 7th to the 13th.

I’m happy and sad about this at the same time. My wife and I are both Rhody grads and were longtime season ticket holders up until 2019. We moved to Tampa last year and She is now a professor at USF, and we grabbed season tickets for the Bulls last year. We will be up In RI the weekend before, and will miss this game by a week. Still looking forward to (maybe) next years game down here at FGCU.

They did as good a job as possible putting together our schedule, under the circumstances. Overall I am happy with the teams we were able to get, and still hoping we can add 1 or 2 more games preferably at home.

There are some rumors out there that the A-10 may institute a 20 game conference schedule for this season. Could even be announced this week.

I haven't really been paying much attention to the schedule this year, because of so much other stuff going on, so I have no clue if we were going to play in one of these. If we weren't though, probably going to be some schools scrambling for OOC dates now.

Likely cancelling the game at Florida

UConn will have their 2 Other MTE games At Mohegan plus 3 games with Connecticut based teams at home

UConn will play at least 3 games at Mohegan
Iona will play 4 games at Mohegan
URI and St Bonaventure will both play 4 games at Mohegan

Smart to minimize travel costs, minimize Covid exposure

Perfect for URI being so close to home. Outstanding job by David Cox and his staff to put these 4 games at Mohegan together. Possibility Boston College could be played at Mohegan too?

Great job!

I've thoroughly enjoyed watching Rhody play at Mohegan over the years, Ok St, Cincy, West Virginia, even Duke were all great games to be at. Also helps that its 1/2 from my house. Hope fans are allowed in some capacity.

College basketball tournaments and events in Orlando 'NBA-like bubble' canceled in COVID-19 protocol spat
Teams were concerned about some of the testing requirements and procedures for early-season tournaments
Kyle Boone

By Kyle Boone
Oct 26, 2020 at 2:28 pm ET

Several early-season college basketball tournaments and multi-team events that were going to be held in Orlando, Florida, next month have been canceled, according to ESPN, which was staging the games. The scuttling of the plans to play the tournaments and events in a "NBA-like bubble" comes after what The Athletic reports were "ongoing differences" between the network and the participating schools over COVID-19 health and safety protocols required for participation, costing dozens of programs games just a month before the season is scheduled to start.

"ESPN Events set out to create a protected environment for teams to participate in early-season events in Orlando," ESPN said in a statement Monday afternoon. "Based on certain challenges surrounding testing protocols, we opted to resume these tournaments during the 2021-22 season."

Calling off plans for the games in the Orlando bubble impacts 10 total events owned by ESPN and more than two dozen teams in total that were expected to participate, according to The Athletic. Among the events impacted include the Jimmy V Classic, Champions Classic and the Orlando Invitational. It's unclear if the Champions Classic and the Jimmy V Classic doubleheaders will be canceled, however, or if the events will be played elsewhere. How those are handled could impact Duke, Michigan State, Kansas and Kentucky, the team's involved in the Champions Classic. The Athletic reported that Virginia, Florida State and Texas Tech were among the "dozens of teams" who had games cancelled less than a month before the 2020-21 season begins on Nov. 25.

A little more:

"The disagreement between schools expected to participate in the Orlando bubble and ESPN came over how stringent the protocols would be, according to CBS Sports' Matt Norlander. The Athletic reported that ESPN put forth guidelines that fall in line with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the NCAA, which are "more restrictive than the protocols many conferences are planning to implement." There was also disagreement on how to handle COVID-19 positive players and how frequently players who recovered from the virus must be tested.

Whether or not some of these events get rescheduled or not, though, the fact that multi-team events -- a month out from the start of the season -- are being canceled or pushed elsewhere is not a good sign. Schools planning to play in the events now canceled must scramble to fill schedules elsewhere on short notice, and there's at least some behind-the-scenes momentum to move to a conference-only schedule for this season amidst last-minute chaos."

I very rarely say this, but I think ESPN was in the right here.

These were not one-off games that can be pushed into other days/weeks if there is an issue.

These are two or three game tournaments where one COVID issue can cause the cancellation of the entire event.

Stricter protocols should have been in effect to protect the integrity of the entirety of these events.

I agree...espn is right to stick to their guns here.

For those in these tournaments that now are looking for games, there's room for you at the Ryan Center.

These Pods are the late additions. Mohegan continues to grow in popularity and with the demise of Orlando as a bubble.
We will play Towson and Stephen F Austin from The same pod as previously announced.

Agree, UVM has built themselves as a mini powerhouse in the America East...I live close to Umass Lowell and go see them everytime they are in town, solid basketball being played up there...a few years ago John Becker was in the coaching conversations for Rhody

Always always good they are!

Anthony Lamb has been the truth especially.

Was odd how we beat them by 20 in Dan's first year.

EDIT: Beat them by 10

Beating SMU that year by 22 was the even more surprising one.

Quick take aways 10 games televised and 8 non televised conference games. First five of the schedule seems very challenging and lightens up towards the middle of the schedule. And closes pretty strong. Definitely a tough conference schedule imo.

good stuff with the announcement, hopefully more can be added that will be televised if its not already finalized

Here is a question for KBers...with our PA system issues at the RC, do we think they will pump in crowd noise like we have heard with other sports/leagues?
