He was a 2020 and reclassed. Upside through the roof. Outstanding student. Man, the staff is on a roll.

Re: '21 PA SF - Ileri Ayo-Faleye (Offer)
This is the type of player that, were we all set waiver wise, you take and red shirt (rather than him doing a PG year).
Immensely talented, just needs to lift for a year.

Re: '21 PA SF - Ileri Ayo-Faleye (Offer)
I really like what I see on tape. Can do a little bit of everything shoot the 3, distribute the ball to teammates, very atheltic when driving to the rim and good defensive shot blocker. Would assume he would benefit from a year in the weight room. Definitely intrigued by this signing and added length to the lineup.

I liked how he was moving his feet. Did Rhody find a diamond in the rough?

So, he's back to a '20, an eligible player. That's a plus right there.

Wow just watched that video kid looks like a great talent can shoot very athletic jumps through the roof and can block shots
Kind of surprised he didn’t have better schools on his list but we will take it baby

My guess (and it’s a total guess) is that he plays for Rhody this season if the Mitchell’s don’t get waivers. If they do get waivers, he redshirts. His development from practice and weight training will be better as a redshirt than it would be at Putnam Science.

Re: '20 PA SF - Ileri Ayo-Faleye (Rhode Island Commit)
He was a late bloomer from a lower tier HS basketball conference, had he decided to do post grad at Putnam his recruiting resume would of been much stronger. He seems like a hard worker and a good student, should be a good fit here.

absolutely love the video he posted to announce his commitment. The way he said "I'm going to rhode island" at the end sounded very genuine. Looking forward to watching this guy play.

Re: '20 PA SF - Ileri Ayo-Faleye (Rhode Island Commit)
He looks good. Athletic , quick first step, looks to have a nice stroke and can really elevate. Wish he was carrying a little more weight because He will get pushed around inside.
Still he looks like a quick jumper and may be able to out quick opposing bigs to the ball.
Looks like a quality addition.
I am assuming with this signing that the plan B big is no longer in play.

Even at 6-6 or 6-7 he’s got good size for a wing.

Whereas the cesspool side of twitter is that I know everyone's damn politics and what they ate for breakfast, these decision videos are definitely the upside of twitter. Love these.

Re: '20 PA SF - Ileri Ayo-Faleye (Rhode Island Commit)
Feels rare for me to be so excited by a player who comes out of nowhere to sign with us, but I can't help it after watching those two videos. I think there is something special about this kid. I know it's just a highlight video, and with all the normal caveats about the level of competition, but I've become accustomed to watching all these clips of players to try to extrapolate what is real from what isn't. This kid plays with an instinctiveness, energy (bordering on joy for the game), and lack of hesitation that jumps out to me. He's also displayed, in a 5 minute video, basically every skill and ability there is on a basketball court. It looks like the game just comes naturally to him. I'd be curious to know if he is one of those classic stories (like the Toppins) of a guy who played as a guard growing up but then grew taller later in high school. I don't know if he intends on taking a year off, like he would have anyway by prepping, but I can't wait to see him suit up for us.

There were a couple of crossover dribbles out by the elbow where he put
the defender covering him right on his ass!! Broke his ankles right off!
Nasty move!!

His game actually reminds me a little bit of Toppin coming out of high school.

I feel the same way, watching the videos. It's not your ordinary run of the mill edited videos. This kid has "something". His body movement is so smooth, confidence just pouring out of him, no hesitation. If he can keep that going at this level, a big if for sure, but not impossible, he could be one of those unheralded players that come around every so often.Ramrod wrote: ↑4 years ago Feels rare for me to be so excited by a player who comes out of nowhere to sign with us, but I can't help it after watching those two videos. Toppin was not one and done, he sat out a year and played two. I'll take that, at that level any day.

Yeah. It was a reference to Jacob. Hope this kid develops into a Star here. This looks like a good signing if the twins are eligible.

Athleticism is certainly there, somewhat concerned with the list of schools who have offered/shown interest, is this just a case of flying under the radar?

They seem like similar players (jacob and ileri) and might not be a coincidence that hes replacing jacob.

You guys do know there are many great players that never go significant offers or interest. If we waited another year for this kid after he attended Putnam (pro factory) we wouldn’t have had a shot.

Re: '20 PA SF - Ileri Ayo-Faleye (Rhode Island Commit)
Watched the video again after Reef's post. I see a lot of Ulmer in him .
Can elevate, block shots, a decent out side shot and excellent
quickness and a pretty good handle for a 6-7/6-8 forward .
Like I said before at about the 1-2 minute mark he
does a cross over at the elbow that almost puts the guy guarding him
on his ass. The only question because of the level of competition is
if it will translate to D1 ball. I think so but only time will tell.
Looks like a good signing.

Looks to me he can get off his shot when he wants to off the dribble with his high elevation on his jump shot
Is he at URI now working out with the team ??
