Not sure if there should be a listing for each potential transfer in the recruiting section but here is info on Evan Cole

Funny that they mention the Mitchell twins and how they don’t want any part of them because besides being talented, there are a lot of headaches that come with him.ramster wrote: ↑4 years ago Not sure if there should be a listing for each potential transfer in the recruiting section but here is info on Evan Cole

I can’t help but think how bad a decision Mekhi Long made. Because there are So many transfers in the portal he will be over looked for a while and end up being some respectable coaches 4th or 5th option or a lower D1 schools first. If he were smart, he’s the guy that should’ve waited until the end of next season to see how things played out. His body of work is sorely lacking and he played a quality amount of minutes for a frosh.

Re: The Transfer Carousel - 2020
I really like guys who make all defensive teams at any level when they aren't scoring a lot. It means they can really defend as so many of these votes default to good defenders who score rather than just the great defenders. If he is closer to 37% from three than his frosh year and switch on to multiple guys, he can be a really good piece. Think his floor is pretty high and ceiling limited to how consistent his jumper is.

Re: The Transfer Carousel - 2020
Totally agree. Long was athletic and fearless and that plays everywhere, but skill-wise he was not an A10 player. He would have continued to get key minutes off the bench as an energy/glue guy for four years (and I feel we need guys like that), but unless he took a massive leap offensively I don’t think he could have ever been a starter here.DC_Rams wrote: ↑4 years agoIf he thinks he’s a starter, or MEAC.section(105) wrote: ↑4 years ago.......MAAC level player.......?DC_Rams wrote: ↑4 years ago I can’t help but think how bad a decision Mekhi Long made. If he wants to start, and I assume he does based on the way he bolted, the MAAC could be a good place to go. I know some people here and some people in his family thought more of his ability than I do; I’m hopeful for his sake that he does not pick his next home based on those opinions or he’s going to end up upset again.

Re: The Transfer Carousel - 2020
This is bad for college basketball. I hope they allow it for this year and go back to the way it was next year. Obviously it is not going to happen, but this really taints the game. Recruiting money should be limited in the future. Save the money for poaching/recruiting transfers.DC_Rams wrote: ↑4 years ago https://news.yahoo.com/charlotte-49ers- ... c=newsroom

Agreed, similar and slightly better defensive player than Long but Martin is a considerably better shooter. A win for Rhody.

Re: The Transfer Carousel - 2020
I think Wilkins is a very interesting and intriguing prospect. Especially with the transfer ruling about a waiver for sitting out not decided yet. He is a guy due to circumstances could get a waiver possibly if not passed. I remember watching him quite a bit as a freshman on a very good VA Tech team. While certainly not a star, a typical frosh that was used sparingly but showed signs of potential. Enough to make himself recognized. He could certainly fit into a 2/3 swing position.
He was recruited by Buzz Williams and apparently played better under him in his freshman year than he did last year. Buzz Williams evaluation vs Mike Young? Young was a desperation hire, Williams is an outstanding coach, I will take his opinion every day of the year over Mike Young. Buzz coaches a unique uptempo style, Young is quite different to say the least and it is said Wilkins does not fit into Young's style. Another physical type kid plays hard.
I often put to much value into certain coaches and their evaluation, but Buzz is near the top of my list for evaluation and also coaching up. He has often had to get guys under the radar a bit and has succeeded and will at A & M too. I, really like David Cox evaluation of talent also, if he made a call, I think it should be noteworthy.
Maybe I have too much time to analyze and put thought into in these quarantined times, but I believe it is something to keep an eye on.

Re: The Transfer Carousel - 2020
There are approx. 350 D1 teams.
If they end up with 1000+ transfers, that's almost 3 per team.
Mind boggling.
Something has to be done or this sport is going down the crapper.
Whether or not the no sit out rule passes, they have to limit players to one transfer per their college career max.
