Rooting for VCU tonight.
No explanations needed.
However 9 points is a lot...if I were to bet this one it would be on Richmond to cover.
Should be close.
Yeah I’m rooting for VCU but I think Richmond is the better team.
I still think Richmond is about as good as Duquesne. Soft as a marshmallow and not exceptionally talented. VCU should beat them up, take their lunch money and leave them hanging by their shorts in the visiting locker room at the Siegel Center.

All things considered its been a while since I have felt this nervous days head of a game in January. They win this game and Friday night on ESPN2 would be a late March atmosphere. Ironically, the thing that calms me the most is knowing they lost the last trap game to Brown, and followed it up with the Richmond L.
Teams who face adversity early win late...we all know how much losing early in 2016-17 helped them to win the A-10 that year. They'll be ready.
You should read these game previews or look at the thread that shows that it is on Cox.
Spooky, I know you're just being sarcastic and I can appreciate the joke, but not everyone knows that Cox and YurView are the same (which I assume must be true, though I'm not 100% positive since I have lived outside RI for nearly 20 years). I posted the info:
Because based on the tweet, one could easily infer from the tweet that the game now being on Cox Channel 4 is new news and worthy of a post. Reading your original game preview (which I do read every time and appreciate - I love chicken wings btw), does not make it clear that the game is on Cox at least to me. The post mentions TV: YurView or WUTF-DT4 - but to me it is a leap to assume that WUTF-DT4 and Cox Channel 4 are the same (if they are in fact the same).

Hoping to add number 7 tonight. Along with numerous other reasons, I like our back court with 5 minutes to go. Both offensively and defensively I like our chances. Go Fatts and Jd!!!

I agree - but hopefully you're wrong in the sense that I hope our backcourt is resting healthy and comfortably on the bench while Green and Dadika handle mop-up duty for the last 5 minutes
If you say you’re a Rhody fan, I know you are my brother. For you have suffered as I have suffered.

I don't know the statistics but I believe we shoot FT's better in the 2nd half also. Fatts is money down the stretch and even Langevine, who usually misses his first 3-4 in the game is better in the 2nd half (at least by memory I think so).
Fatts is 33 for 35 in the last 5 minutes of games this year. That's 94%.
I'd also be curious to see how many games we've been behind in the second half by 10 points or more. I'm sure it's a few - and that's definitely the mark of a tough veteran team.
as long as we have one more point on the board than GM when the clock hits triple zero, mostly don't care how we get there. (no one getting hurt would be the care)

This will be a good measuring stick game. By way of comparison, VCU won at Mason by 13 and Richmond won there by 10.
Who actually uses this as a metric?!
Smh....
You guys are hilarious. Pretty much every ratings system looks at who did you play, where did you play, and how much did you win or lose by. Looking at how they fared at the same location against common opponents isn't completely worthless. I'm just trying to add to the conversation. Also I agree that every game is different. Both can be true.
Anyway, another point I was thinking is that this is a game we could use Harris if he's healthy. I hope he plays and contributes for us tonight. AJ Wilson is obviously their most important big guy, but they've got a couple other big bodies that will wear on Cyril if he doesn't get help. Calixte at 6'8 227 and Oduro a Freshman at 6'9 237.
As usual have to work tonight hoping to be able to catch some of the game on my phone. Really really hoping to not have a let down before Friday’s game against the shitty Rams

It matters over the course of a season with a big sample, but you could not reasonably rank three teams by looking solely at their margin in one game each against a common opponent.

If he can go, I wouldn't start him. See how the game goes and use sparingly if needed. JH probably wants to play as it is near his home but he will get another chance as URI will later play at GW in eleven days.

Check out the photos and how far back and up the seating goes. Long way from the court if you sit in its outer perimeter seating sections. These sections behind the baskets must really suck when play is at the other end.

So it doubles as a hockey rink. I'm glad the Ryan Center was built exclusively for Basketball, makes a big difference.
I don't believe it is equipped for ice from what I have read.
It however looks to host a lot of non university events as it once had an indoor football team and has other bookings such as concerts, the circus, and UFC fights. Fairfax is just outside DC in the heavily populated Northern Virginia suburbs.

Use him as last resort if Walker and Cyril have tremendous foul trouble.

I work in a factory and aren’t allowed to have my phone on the line, but ty I’ll try to listen a bit on the way in and hopefully get in the break room to check it out.

Personal tidbit about that arena, I saw Pearl Jam play there on April 8, 1994 when it was called the Patriot Center. Earlier that same day Kurt Cobain had committed suicide. Still have the ticket stub.
