No time for negativity. This was an awesome win. Team showed so much heart. There will always be ups and downs during games...bottom line is they pulled out a much need win. Congrats boys! Go Rhody!

If we could finish at the basket we would’ve done by 20. Still I’m happy overall. When our defense is on like today we can play with anybody.

Great win today! Loved what I saw on defense. I didn’t see a lot of hero ball especially in the first half. I can’t help but think how awful that Brown loss is on the resume come March. Hopefully they keep rolling and it won’t bite us in ass.

massive win. Need to win these next 5, Duquesne is tough but we get them at home and I think a large part of the success has been due to paying completely physically outmatched opponents. Obviously I'm looking way too far ahead here but no reason we can't be 15-5 heading into that VCU game

Yeah yeah yeah!!! Love these guys. I get aggravated like many when Rams play bad and lose. But reserve judgement, they are kids, talented kids at that. Duke loses to Stephen F Austin, Kentucky to Evansville, so on. Granted URI has very little room for error, but great win. I must admit, I am usually an optimist and huge backer of Coach Cox, but I began to have my reservations after 2 games. I am happy to play the fool and prove myself with a thought of quick judgement. Go Rhody!!

The bandwagon is rolling again. On TV, Jon Rothstein just said “URI is a team that can advance in the NCAA tournament, but they don’t have the resume yet.”

Could have rolled over after those 2 losses. Could have rolled over when VCU got within one.. Give them credit and stick with them.. Enjoy the wins and hope effort continues.. Lots of basketball to go..

This was our 3rd toughest conference game and we got a convincing win. Lead the whole way with 1 tie.

More impressively - we fought through 2 big VCU runs - including a 2nd half stretch where we went scoreless for 6 minutes.

Senior leadership. Big balls. Smart plays.

Had we lost this game you'd have hung it on 7 missed 2nd half layups - as the coaching and defensive efforts were the best of the season.

Credit to this man squad for battling and grinding in the 2nd toughest arena to play in in the country...until today when we snapped that streak.

SUCK IT LONG AND HARD IMITATION RAMS. ALL ABOARD.

I enjoyed the hell out of it today, but I just don’t think it means anything in the big picture. The regular season is still a lost cause. I will still watch, and I hope they will still play. It’s just hard to feel the same kind of excitement when you know it doesn’t really mean anything.

Man, I wasn't expecting a win, but fantastic.

Hey the offense is never going to be pretty playing these guys.

However keep playing this kind of defense, we'll be in every game from here on out.

We're not done in spite of the 2 recent losses.

That's a Q1 win. How nice is that?

Hate to pick on him but does anything good happen when we pass the ball to Cyril down low? Not today for sure. We certainly need him to set a pick out front when setting up the offense and his rebounding is still awesome but when he gets the ball down low............ For the upteemth time: how bout a pass out once in a while. He must have had 3 shots blocked today from point blank range.

I gotta say, I am shocked by the opinion of some of the fans here.

There is no such thing as meaningless games, so long as you have a chance, even a tiny chance, the games mean plenty. This is never over until the last game in the A-10 Tourney.

Yeah, sure, they are winning ugly, but they are winning. That's what matters most. They still have a lot to work on, but they are moving in the right direction.

That's the best I got, guys. I've never had to be the "eternal optimist" guy on these boards. I'm hoping other people, who have that natural disposition, will pick up the slack.

So happy for that win!

What I will say was the George’s watch party was a joke. Went to it every year since they had it. I get it, they got a rush since it was warm out but don’t market a party if you can’t commit. They were all out for some clam cake deal I am sure. Ended up leaving George’s with some fellow Rhody diehards and watched the game at Mariner Grill.

Omg - Richmond is not a bad loss. We have 1 bad loss. 68 team make the tourney, at least 50 of them probably have a head scratcher loss in there.

The talk about the season being over is just flat out rediculous. Like get a grip. They had two tough games sure. Cant defend those two games but the season still has a ton more left and a10 having a bunch of top 100 teams this year including having to face vcu again and Dayton twice. Like this shit isnt over. Be a real fan and support your team during the brightest and darkest of days or your just a bandwagon fan that get likes being negative and miserable. Everyone would have loved to have those games in the win column. The brown game is now erased by this vcu win. Now it's up to what we can do to finish this conference schedule. Take it game by game.

That was unexpected. Even more so by the ease it was done leading nearly the entire game. For some reason, URI just seems to have VCU's number. Have now beaten them seven out of the last eight. Rhody is the only A-10 member to have a winning all time record versus the Richmond Rams. Got to keep it going at St Joe's. Cannot take them too lightly, especially in their little bandbox gym. No more Brown type games.

After the Brown loss they were staring three tough games in the face to open A-10 play. I thought they needed to win 2 of 3 to get back on track. They did just that. Now need to take care of business in the next two before another tough four-game stretch.
