No offense, but the whole NET thing is dumb. "Oooh, if we lose to Dayton x2 we can still make the NCAA." No, you can't.

If you don't beat Dayton at least once, you ain't going anywhere. And you might need to beat them 2 out of 3, if you see them in the A-10 tourney.

You need to do it the old fashioned way. Just concentrate on winning games, one at a time.

Gambling junkies worry about that stuff. "My bookie said +8.5, take the points" Pffffft!

Yeah because the team that just got there asses handed to them a .500 Brown team will go 15-3 in the A10 and run the table in Brooklyn. Pathetic performance. This season is a lost cause unless they only lose 2-3 A10 games. Could have used Dana Tonight.

I dont know, to me PC and Bama are 2 bad teams going nowhere this year and likely to finish near the bottom of their respective conferences, not sure how much goodwill those wins carried for me. We needed to get a quality non conference win over a Maryland, WV or LSU and not have any bad losses, we failed to do so on both accounts.

What do these schools have in common?
Bryant
Canisius
Quinnipiac
NJIT
Merrimack
URI

Those are the 6 teams Brown has beat.
They beat Bryant by 2, Canisius by 7 & Quinnipiac by 2.

You don’t understand college basketball. It doesn’t work that way. Also if you think we are going 13-5 or 14-4 in conference you are wrong. The learning experience will be not losing games like this if you want to make the tourney. No one cares how they finish in the A-10

In a game we sucked but still could have won with more effort before the last 5 mins. I want a guy on our team that can sit in the corner and bury threes. We don’t have it. We get the looks no one can hit them.

Yeah, for sure the A10 tournament will still be worth tuning in for to see if they can catch lightning in a bottle. But to the extent that the goal of this regular season was to earn an at-large bid, which this season was for me, that is now moot. So the entire rest of the season - which is the entire conference season - is meaningless aside from seeding. I just can’t get that worked up for that with the talent that’s on this team.

This season is a failure now.

I’m at a loss right now...

Have to win the A10 tourney, that’s about it. Doesn’t matter if they go 14-4 in conference (they won’t, they’ll be lucky to finish at 12-6). They’re gonna have big issues playing conference road games

This was brutal tonight, felt like a punch in the gut

No defensive intensity we were sleepwalking out there. Cannot allow 85 points to Brown. Got outrebounded against a team with no size.

Unlike last two games ball got sticky no sharing of the ball, no working for good shots instead settled for bad ones. Looked a lot like last year in that regard, for the first time all season.

Every team has a stinker, that was ours. I’m always of mindset that good wins outweigh bad losses since every team near bubble will have some. We will have to finish 2nd in league to feel good.

Call me crazy but if we do go 14-4 in conference which I don’t think we will but if we do and win a game in the conf tournament we may get in

Teams can avoid a bad loss and still get in it happens

It’s been awhile since we’ve had a good shooter and that hurts us. When we are down and need to get back in it quickly, we don’t have anyone who can consistently hit a 3. When we play vs a zone, don’t have that guy to break it down from the outside. We have great athletes but they can’t shoot for shit. Today, when we cut it to 8, if we had a sniper that hit a couple treys I bet we would’ve won. Brown packed the paint all night because we can’t shoot. Doesn’t seem like any help is on the way either.

Why would they focus on the A-10 tourney when the conference play hasn’t even started? The point is they need quality wins and no bad loses to get in. This will not happen. Relying on them winning the A-10 post season tournament is like counting on winning the lottery to pay your bills. Very flawed team

I’ve been complimentary of our staff thus far as I think in many games they have made some great moves. But Martin out coached us tonight...

Took Cyril away from the hoop and kept Fatts off the ball by using Choh to initiate offense. Spaced the floor well and found their shooters. Packed the paint and encouraged us to shoot from perimeter. We had a massive size and strength advantage and we did not use it at all. Cyril should have had 25 against that team. Jeff also really struggled, again.

Winning the A10 tournament is easier than winning the regular season in my opinion. Getting hot at the end of the year for 3-4 games is easier than running the table all season. Especially with our inconsistency. The focus should be on the tourney, unless you think we can beat VCU, Dayton and Davidson without losing any Gimmie games. After today, that looks like a long shot.

I like to know how many points we left right at the hoop. One that comes to mind is when Harris got the ball wide open under the hoop, couldn’t finish, missed two free throws, and then fouled.

If you can’t win any big games you certainly can’t lose to Brown. Non conference will go down as a failure now unfortunately.

Im fucking angry but saying the season is over is ridiculous. Obviously I’m not confident, but if we win the A10 and beat teams like VCU and Dayton one bad road loss doesn’t keep you out. I know that’s not likely...

It’s simple for me now. One game at a time. Forget about net ranking and all that other bullshit. Just win....

Don’t call yourself a fan of this program if you’re going to give up on these kids after one goddamn game...

When you can't make 3's and the other team does make them, oops.

That will happen sometimes.

But outrebounded? No excuse.

Also FT's were bad.....here we go again with that.

Toppin didn't score? What's up with that?

There's going to be more nights like this in conference, unfortunately.

Just when we think they are getting better, this happens.

That NIT matchup with UConn might happen after all [sarcasm please]

Those who think we're going 14-4 or 13-5 in conference, take a reality pill.

The A10 is Dayton, then a gap to VCU, then a big gap to everyone else, including us.

We still might finish top 4, but an at large will be a very long shot.

I think it was Austin Carroll as I saw him up a lot during the game. Just my guess.
