This Nicholls State team is GOOD. They are all Jr/Sr and because most are transfers they have an extra year of age. It shows.

Lots of heart with this team. They don't seem to get phased or psyched out. Multiple guys step up and make plays. Great sign early in the season. This was a freaking dog fight and it was a must win. Way to go Rams!

Glad to escape with the win. I feel like we all kind of saw this coming to an extent and knew it would be a tough game. Coming off the Alabama game, leaving for Jamaica tomorrow, real easy spot to have a down game. Fatts carried us and they found a way to get it done.

As others have said, great win. Got down mid-way through the second half but hung tough against an experienced, talented, and under rated team.

I didn’t have this one highlighted as a noteworthy game a month ago, but I really think this was a good win. That team is good. But more importantly, we faced some adversity here and gutted it out. That’s a character builder. Will pay dividends down the road.

Good hard nose victory and a nice comeback after being down 57-50. From there, 20-8 run including a 7-2 run to close the game. Glad the ending didn't remind me of that LaSalle game. (Or as the kids like to say - that post didn't age well).

Huge three by Martin.

Biggest impact was Harris with his 10 points and coming up huge when Cyril was out. To me he is the player of the game for that.

I thought Harris was really good. Interesting that Tate got the crunch time minutes ahead of him. Tate played a nice floor game, so that’s not shocking but I didn’t think Harris did anything to lose those minutes, either. Probably his most important minutes as a Ram tonight. Was good on the boards and had a couple really timely buckets. Hope he can keep some momentum going.

I am going to pull for Nicholls St for the remainder of the year. Helluva team. I’d like to see them play UMD. They are no pushovers. The game was ugly partially because we didn’t play well, and partially because they didn’t allow us to play well. Give them credit when it’s due.

Make sure you all give credit for this team shooting much better on the line. FTs decided quite a few of our games last year. We are already MUCH better.

What a game by Fatts - 24 pts including 9-9 from the line, 4 boards, 6 assists, 5 steals, only 2 turnovers. Only blemish was his 3 pt shooting.

URI will go far this year if he can consistently play as well as he did tonight.

Fatts has been the MVP. Efficient, smart, basketball and does this others cannot. His penetration ability is insane.

Cyril clutch down the stretch. Jermaine showing improvement - no fouls?!?.

Not the best game for Dowtin and some boneheaded plays from the freshmen (expected).

We really need Martin to step up and offer some scoring. Clutch 3 and nice cut for a dunk, but not a lot else.

Tough underrated team. Great win!

Down 57-50 and then closed the game 20-8...this is what they did in a lot of close games in DH's last two seasons. Let's keep that up. The 20-8 includes a 7-2 run after the 63-63 tie.

Totally agree with Koch, last season we lose that game. Right now Fatts is the straw that stirs the drink and has been very good in 3 of 4 games.

One thing is clear, whether by injury or foul trouble if either of the big 3 is out for large stretches we are going to struggle.

We will see a lot of what we saw tonight from Nicholls, double teaming ball screens and forcing the ball out of the hands of Jeff and Fatts. Will need other people to make smart decisions and good plays with the ball in their hands. Tyrese has to get more assertive in general and become a consistent threat on offensive end, he disappears for stretches and he is way too talented for that. Had to like what you saw from Jermaine tonight.

Just getting back from RC as part of a small but surprisingly noisy crowd. EZBUCKETS and the student section did a great job.

Quality win and should be a top 100 win if Nicholls stays healthy. Quality bunch of mostly transfer players probably one ball handler away from being extremely dangerous.

Nicholls denied the high post entry pass a lot but we overcame it with a great fastbreak offense at times.

Cox coached a fantastic game only one mistake defensively in my mind with Russell stuck on Mclanahan lead to 5 quick points with Dowtin on the bench - luckily didn’t cost us the ball game. Other than that all the right buttons were pushed and the decision to apply full court pressure really exposed the Nicholls State main weakness at crunch time.

One to the Caribbean!

That was a geat basketball game. Hats off to Nicholls St. They played a great defensive game. Many knew this game shouldn't be taken lightly, and it proved to be true. Good student turnout and vocal small home crowd for this one. Let's make some noise in Jamaica!!!!!

I feel like we missed a lot of layups that we normally wouldn't miss. A lot of those were from Tyrese and Tate.

Tate overall has been doing a good job at being aggressive. Tyrese needs to match his intensity.

The ESPN+ broadcast is excellent this year with Stone Freeman and Tyler Davey on the call. Well worth whatever I’m paying a month for that subscription.

Haven't read other posts yet but that was a very good win. A10 style dogfight. Fought thru adversity with Fatts injury and Cyril foul trouble, sucked it up and won the game. That team was pretty damn good; they could compete in A10.

Not surprised this was a tough game. Thankfully they found a way to win. Seemed to will themselves over the finish line. Nice to see the team make their ft's when they needed them. Hope Cox and the players use this as a learning experience. This team will need to bring it every game. There can be no nights off.

The crowd was small but man we were loud. Would not let them give up. Hope we have a better showing next week, but right before Thanksgiving might be tough.
