Sheppard said since he's on the short side he's always had to take deep threes so the change doesn't bother him
"Every season, college basketball has one or two teams that rise from dormancy to relevancy, squads that make long-awaited charges at the NCAA Tournament and become really fun storylines along the way."

A lot of pics being posted on Instagram of what I’m guessing was today’s practice. The guys look in great shape and like they’re having a lot of fun.

Re: 2019 Offseason Discussion
Toppin won the vertical leap competition.
Edit: Toppin hit the highest mark on the stick.
Fatts had the best vertical measured by the height you hit on the stick less your actual height. Fatts is approximately 10 inches shorter than Toppin.

His hand is above the top of the backboard.
Whoa.
If he turns out to be as good as his brother we will be a beast.

I know the comparisons will be inevitable, but let him be Jacob.
Unrelated, I do not hate this return to shorter shorts that’s happening across basketball. Also, if the other guys aren’t roasting Dana everyday for what he’s doing with his, they are failing as teammates!

Re: 2019 Offseason Discussion
Do they do this every year?
I personally like it for the team building aspect, this team with the new additions needs to be compatible on and off the court so they can excel this year. Seems like fun while still being competitive.

Re: 2019 Offseason Discussion
I think Chase implemented it this year (first time). He talked about having a full offseason with the players this year. By the time he was hired last year and evaluated the players they were into the summer. I believe this was the competition to measure the results from the offseason training program.phipsiGD'11 wrote: ↑4 years ago Do they do this every year?

toppin looks like the same height as Cyril and Harris, is it possible he's pushing 6'9"?

Harris 6’9”
Cyril 6’8”
Toppin 6’8”
He said he was the 3rd tallest on the team. Both he and Cyril said Harris is the tallest - 1 inch taller than them.

Devale looks right up there in that 6'8 category.
You can tell by looking at them they are bigger, stronger, faster and more confident than last year.

They highlight 3 players.
Would have been nice to see how Cyril would handle Lamb if we could have gotten a game with Vermont.

The battle I'm looking forward to is Cyril vs Nate Watson. Watson is going to be a problem for PC opponents this year.phipsiGD'11 wrote: ↑4 years ago https://expandtheboxscore.com/articles/ ... -to-watch/

He outweighs Cryil by 25 lbs and has 2 " on him. Will be interesting to see if Watson
can muscle Cryril around or if C can hold his own.

Gonna be a double-down shutdown! WooHoo!
So, I flipped my high-tech (paper, from Wolfrock Wine and Spirits) desk calendar over to October (and cheat-wrote the 30th in the empty square).
Now...the RIC game is and will be, daily, in sight. It's like waiting for pitchers and catchers to report....

I don’t think this game is relevant. Watson wasn’t even starting then. Young started and they split time.Rhodymob05 wrote: ↑4 years ago Last seasons matchup

Last year’s game was a rock fight. Neither team played well: tough to watch.

Re: 2019 Offseason Discussion
URI was down 27-39 at half. The closest they ever got was 7. They held PC to 20 points in the 2nd half but couldn’t score (23 points). I would say the 2nd half was a rock fight after PC handed it to Rhody in the 1st half.

Re: 2019 Offseason Discussion
I would not have any issues if they made Keaney the practice facility.
Spend a couple million upgrading the locker rooms and add other amenities found in stand alone practice facilities.....
Yeah I know everyone wants their own private spaces. I still think it could have been done.

Re: 2019 Offseason Discussion
Can someone tell Thor or whomever, to put some damn flags up on the Keaney entrance flag poles. Also, I like Keaney. WIsh I could have seen some games in there from years past. Reminds me of a small Cameron Indoor.

They need to replace the rims in Keaney. Way too tight. Actually hurts to dunk on them.

The picture was from today’s practice. The first practice was yesterday.
Other sports teams use Keaney. I know the Women’s Volleyball team plays their matches in there.

Probably not very well.
Lamb plays out at the 3 pt line and can dribble in.
I dont think I've seen Cyril guard guys like that.
Maybe Tate or DJ would match up better.
