I think the family will prefer Cox over Underwood. Underwood will recruit over Ish the first chance he gets, Cox will treat him just like he did Jeff.

If this kid sees how Cox has taken Jeff and helped develop him into what could be a professional basketball player (not just overseas but I could see Jeff getting a shot at a two-way contract after he graduates), how could you not want to be here? How could you tell your child to go somewhere else? The family atmosphere here and the level of basketball we have been playing and are continuing to grow, he could be the next chapter in starting something truly special.

Charlotte is the outlier to me in that grouping.
Is there someone on staff there this is a DMV connection it has some special relationship?

Coach Cox has the special connection as an alum to SJC along with Jeff Dowtin.

Coach Cox has the special connection as an alum to SJC along with Jeff Dowtin.

Charlotte is more than 6 hours to DC, if he was going to go for proximity why not add GW or Mason, or even Richmond or St Joes - he must have liked something with the school. Either way, Rivals seems to indicate he has a visit set up to Charlotte on the 23rd - haven't seen that anywhere else so not sure how accurate that is:

My thoughts exactly, many other schools between DC and Charlotte that have higher pedigree...UNCC has literally been bad for 20 years (tho they had a very solid program leading up to that time), with that list of schools they immediately jump out as an outlier - bad conference, no recent success, etc. Has to be someone on that staff with deep ties to the DMV pulling him there.

On Tuesday night Wake received a verbal from point guard Marcus Foster, Jr. from Chicago, considered to be a 3-star, top 150 guard by some recruiting services.

This is Wake's second 2020 guard commitment, joining 6-5 combo guard Djimon Bailey.

hearing he has an OV scheduled to USF next weekend. they just signed a 4 star guard a week or so, but not sure how much of an impact that has at this point.

big jump for Ishmael in Rivals update rankings. He went from 45th to 35th ranked SG. This would be him just outside of the Rivals 150 rankings. Nice jump for him with most rankings having him 200 or lower for the class of 2020. He's definitely trending in the right way after a great summer.

Elijah Wood dropped out of the SG rankings
Brandon Stroud came in as the 47th ranked small forward and Darius Miles 33rd
Isiah Wilson came in as the 42nd PG
Not seeing any of the bigs we are tracking make the rankings
