TP---not sure if you are referring to my previous post. if so i was responding to blueram's post saying we weren't young any longer. i saw nothing yesterday, or in the last handful of games, from the freshmen (whether needed or not) to back up that opinion.

Did you see anything from sophomores that would back that up?

how many sophomores do we have? fatts played well. if not for a few unwarranted shots, he would have had a great game. distributed the ball nicely. i wouldn't say, because of his efforts alone yesterday that the team has arrived. your post indicated that there was growth. i would look to fatts, martin, harris, tate and omar for that growth. one of them had a good game yesterday. and one of them has played well the last two weeks. if that's the growth you were looking for then so be it...

it's my opinion that this team is on a nice run because our veterans and fatts have produced. the frosh have given nothing.

I brought my gym bag to the game yesterday. It’s a pretty big duffel bag. They barely looked inside. I don’t think they are too strict..

I do really want to go down to NYC should we win, but part of me is like I've been nonstop for a month and a half. Adult decisions here.

This is a rubber match. Really fun one to win.

I think the team ended the season very well. However, a win today and I think it would go a long way in several areas. Just in terms of season ticket support, Coach Cox support, confidence of the players, effect on the A10's perception of URI as a program...…. and of course it will get us to Saturday!

120 minutes away from a tournament birth.

Coach Cox is a freshman also; in many ways this game could show how far he has come.....

Will he hold his own vs Mike Rhoads? Will he be "outcoached" and make winning harder? Will this team be ready offensively to the adjustments that Rhoads will make concerning Cyril, Fattts and pick and rolls?, If Evans keeps Fatts under control, will Dowtin become the in charge point guard.
Will we be ready to attack a zone, if Rhoads does this intermitendly.

My guess is that VCU will double Fatts and force him to give up the ball as much as possible- are we able to take advantage of this? Do we have a good game plan?

Time will tell--we WIN 63-60.

Speaking of the frosh, in the game we beat VCU, Harris, Martin and Tate combined for 24 points and 18 rebounds. Anything close to that today from those 3 and we're looking good. Our big 3 are all playing well. Might just need a little help from the youngsters today.

I just went through security with my 36 L hiking backpack with clothes, kids hair straightener, snacks, water bottles (filled). It was sniffed by dog and then searched. Only comment was on the food/drink and they let that go. I checked bag at guest services after scanning ticket.
