Jimmy Baron just got a nice shout out by Dicky V during a little segment about great 3 point shooters in college basketball this year during the WCC championship.
I’ll never forget that Duke game. Man how bad I wish we could have pulled that one off. That whole season was tough.
The great almost Baron years.
So Dickie V just brought him up out of his memory of great college shooters?

Yep... they brought up a graphic with 10 or so great shooters this season, went on one of his classic rants and brought up a handful of great shooters from memory, Jimmy being one of the first... thought that was really cool.
“Baron had one of the great halves of any kid that’s played against us,” Duke Coach Mike Krzyzewski said. “We were trying to figure out ways where he might not touch it.”
Jimmy went 8-10 on 3 pointers with several of them from very deep in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Jimmy against Duke is one of the greatest games anyone at URI has had.
The shots he was making, and the game he was playing looked exactly like a Steph Curry game now. He had the Crazies and Coach K looking at the ceiling thinking "what they hell do we have to do?"
The ones that really stand out are the bomb from ~10 feet behind the line, and the pull up 3 with a hand in his face and back up against the Crazies.

The only guy I ever saw who had that kind of range was Dennis Scott from Georgia Tech. And he was 6-8, 230 pounds. Was Jimmy really 6-3?
He is 6'3
Says so on his official pre draft measurements on draftexpress.com

OK, thanks. I'm always dubious of listed heights, especially in college. We used to have a guy named Andre Samuel, who was listed at 6-7 until his senior year, when he shrunk to 6-4.
Proudly supplying the Internet with online wisecracks, impertinent comments and loathing of all things mental hospital since 1996.
Jimmy wasn't as revered and respected as a shooter by some of the fan base bc of who his father was.
He was the best shooter I have ever seen at URI, bar none.
Hopefully JT is not near his max time with the NBA club as per the 2-way contract.
I believe that the limit is the number of days with the NBA team may not exceed 45 days. Not sure if that is calendar days or game days. My understanding is that it has nothing to do with how many games or minutes he plays. I believe he has been in 11 games. Not sure how many games he has dressed for.
IF he shot above 30% from three he would have been a big improvement over what we had last year.
We might have won a few more games with a little more offense from outside and another 6'8
body to help Cyril.
Remember the competition (low level league) he is playing against overseas.
Nikola wanted to leave because he got a good offer to play professionally and be able to go home.
It wasn’t a choice by URI to have him last year.
The big 3 is in Providence Saturday July, 13th, but Lamar and Cuttino might not be there. Just by looking at the first week's schedule it seems like half the teams play in one city and the other half play in a different one the next day
