The Adidas Championship is next week in Orange County CA. Adidas has an elite camp in Vegas the week after where they invite the top 60 prospects. Seth Greenberg runs the elite camp for Adidas.

Reef you are correct. There are three evaluation periods in July. Three weeks in a row from Weds - Sun.
There are several AAU events each week run by Nike, Adidas, UA and independents like Evaluate Hoops & Hoops Group.
July 11-15 Peach Jam, Adidas Gauntlet, UA Invitational in Atlanta & other independent events
July 18-22 Adidas Championship (CA) & other independent events
July 25-29 Las Vegas Classic (open), UA Championship (Vegas)

I notice the promo above shows Team BBC playing at Summer Jam Fest (PA). That isn’t the Team BBC that Walker is on. Some of these organizations have two 17u teams. K Low has two teams - one played in Adidas Gauntlet (NYC) and one played in Evaluate Summer Icebreaker (NJ) last week.

If you are trying to track where a Rhody prospect’s team is playing, see if yiu can find the team roster on the tournament web site or the player’s social media (Twitter and Instagram).

All four coaches on the road with the Evaluation Period today starting at 5:00 pm. Spread all over the place this week because there isn’t a Nike event and the Adidas event is in CA. Plenty of events by Hoop Group, Evaluate Hoops and Showcase events. Expressions and City Rock had a 3 hour session tonight at Western New England University (Springfield MA) only open to college coaches and media. Ty is in CA at the Adidas Championship.

Update: Coach Cox also at Adidas Championship

Some of these programs have even more than 2 teams per age group so it can be a lot to track. Usually with kids we are looking at they are on their “elite” or “premier” teams, which are likely on one 1 of the 3 sneaker circuits. They also could have a gold team, silver team, etc and send those kids to the 2nd tier exposure events (hoop group, elevate, etc). It’s a lot to track.

A new thing I am noticing this year are these curated exposure games, mini tourneys where they are getting 2-4 elite programs in 1 gym for live scrimmages. Like 83 posted city rocks and expressions did. I saw New Heights, Team New England and even local program RI Elite promoting similar type events this week.

Last week the Adidas top teams for 17u, 16u & 15u went to the same tournament (NYC). This week teams are all over the place.
The second K Low 17u (Blue) doesn’t have any players that would be at Rhody’s level. Rhody does have several targeted recruits on non-circuit AAU teams (see my post above). The Under Armor Championship is in CA too but that is a small circuit.

The top 21s play up on the 17u teams and some of the top 20s (like Clarke). I am not sure if these top players are realistic targets for URI.

Coach Cox will be lodging a lot of miles in the air this week (Weds-Sun). No one will outwork him.

The last weekend of AAU is weird.
MassRivals win 6 games in Prime Event Orlando but after winning last night to get to the semis today they pulled out of the tournament. They flew out early this morning. Akok didn’t play in any of the games in the tournament. I don’t know if he is injured or just exhausted.

In Vegas DC Premier and PSA played in one tournament and had their second team play the Pool games in Fab48. Then when bracket/playoff round started fir Fab48 their top team played. They had a 20 man roster for Feb48???

These kids play way too many games over these three weeks.
In 11 days (July 18-28) Dahmir Bishop played 11 games and particapated in 4 Adidas All American Camp sessions for 3 hours each.
He was worn out the last 3-4 games.

Seems like a heavy UA presence (Steph’s sponsor) but others from Nike teams. I am surprised no one from DC Premier was invited since they won the UA Championship.

Not sure where to put this. An issue much more serious than basketball. That said, Danny Manning can’t be happy right now. Wake Forest is in Bishop’s final 8.

I would use the defense that the coach was defending himself and others from the violence from the victim. Seems from the story only one punch was thrown as opposed to a pummeling

Seems like a tragic result - you don’t expect one punch to lead to a guy’s death

According to 247 Sports, Jamill Jones is the assistant coach responsible for Bishop's recruitment

Nice to keep the local team in the mix, but going with VCU, while fun and interesting, seems unlikely. Regardless, good luck, Rams!

I know we might be the favorite but If we don't get Walker (and now with Wahab out) what is plan C? Sommerville? That would be a big downgrade from the 1st 2.

If Rhody doesn’t get Walker or if they are going after 4 recruits, their next target is McLeod.

3. Long

If you want an order. They call Bishop and Walker their priority recruits.
