We have now reached the A-10 tournament final without Jared Terrell (though he hit a couple huge shots today) or Cyril Langevine even playing a good game yet.

Jarvis and Fatts, what a spark they gave off the bench in the 2nd half. And Jeff Dowtin...16 points, 10 assists, 6 rebounds and ZERO turnovers...FANTASTIC!!! We can win even if Jared has a bad game. Let's get another title tomorrow!

It's so good to see Jarvis have a good game. That rebound may have been the play of the game.
Ironic that they call a travel on the last play of the game.

We always want a blowout win against a team we hate. But, when that's not possible, a heartbreaking loss (for them) is the next best thing.

Berry saved our butts today in first half until we got the outside game going.
Garrett with two HUGE threes to start the comeback.
Fatts was incredible.
And Dowtin with 16 points 10 assists 6 boards zero T/O plus comes thru in clutch

People are starting to know who Jeff is...

Jeff Dowtin played second fiddle in travel ball to Markelle Fultz, in high school to Anthony Cowan & at URI to Matthews & Terrell. Should be a national name this time next year.

Few that game had me nervous. I think like many others i was still traumatized from attending the senior night game. Followed by the frustrations of watching them fumble the Davidson game as my power was out , using the last of my laptop batteries and cell phone for internet.

However team deserves credit for winning a shootout when it's Defense was not great and the other team could hardly miss.

Not gonna lie i still think we are deficient in close, and late games. But man it was good to pull this one out and make it to the A-10 final at least!

Only 2 players have more assists in a season at URI than Jeff Dowtin. Their names are Tyson Wheeler and Silk Owens. For those that might not know URI history, that's pretty good. And he's not done yet...

He's a great example of a guy who's stats vastly underrate his potential. He can get to the rim with great dribbling and body control, excellent passing, rebounds, and defends, even has a nice looking shot by the standard of Hurley era guards.

vulnerable to dismal stretches...sure...but just as vulnerable to have 'can't live without' stretches.
Fortunately, the team is so deep.... Fatts + Jarvis - 20 points, 6 assists, no TO's and 5 OFFENSIVE rebounds...that's pretty decent bench stuff.

The presser is on Facebook on the Atlantic 10 page under videos. Martelli sounded like a complete whiny baby in the opening statements. Complaining about the obvious travel call at the end. And not getting the result they deserved. Makes me hate him more and more every game.

That's a great win for our team so proud of the efforts

El Jefe what can you say the guy is amazing

Nice to see Jarvis hit those 2 treys and get that key offensive reb at the end that's a winnning play there

Fatts was huge and we needed him big time

Berry nice offense 1h keeping us in it

EC and JT made some plays in the 2h

One thing i have not seen mentioned much in this thread is that we got to give some credit to Andre Berry for doing a very solid job rebounding (5 off rebounds, 9 total), and defending.

I've been ragging on him all year for often appearing uninspired in these areas. But he sure stepped up when we needed it today!

Have said before that his improvement on D has been unbelievable. You could see that he had the potential to contribute offensively all along. But on D, he's transformed from 'the guy chasing the guy laying the ball in the hoop', to a more than adequate defender...in a tough system that requires him to come out, hedge, and get back. Huge kudos to that guy.

Can I just point out that we faced 40 minutes of 2-3 zone today and made 14 3s, our bigs scored 23 points, and as a team we put up ninety? Maybe teams will not play it against us no matter what the rest of the way.

the 3 point shooting today was outstanding. I just hope we don't fall in love with it. Jarvis did what he does (or at least what he did until the last 6 games) and Fatts was huge. Particularly impressed by Dowtin though. He can make the set three pointer when he is unguarded, but the dagger three was off the dribble with a man in his face..

Lol, what?

He's really complaining about not getting away with a travel so they could officially put up a half court shot that was missed anyways?

Allowances can be made for fans after tough losses, and maybe even players. I know I've fumed for hours over results and at times write/say things i regret, or at least would take back in retrospect after many games. But from a coach it seems a little petty and/or delusional.
