You might want to buy the first Friday session in advance. With the game starting at noon there might not be a lot of tickets being sold outside. I would buy the $20 ticket from the A10 site and blend in with the Rhody crowd in the lower arena as they take their seats. You can buy other sessions outside. Fans from losing teams will sell their semifinal and final sessions on their way out.wgracie99 wrote:It"s either $20 or $89 (for tickets on ends)? I guess we'll just go at game time and get them there or from someone looking to sell theirs.

Re: 2018 Atlantic 10 Tournament - Washington, D.C.
It’s so frustrating I know!!!! I bought tickets back in January for LWR1 ROWGA1 and I still can’t find where they are. There isn’t a single seating chart that has that area. Ticketmaster is USELESS. They place you on hold forever then the person who takes the call has zero clue how to do anything. I’m going to try and call the Capital One Arena tomorrow.Rhody_JAM wrote:This is my first time going to the A10 tournament. I was wondering if anyone knew how purchasing single game tickets work? Is there a URI specific section if you buy single game tickets? Also, I was looking on the A10 website and went to ticket master. I saw the tickets are $20 a session, but did not understand how the ticket locations correspond to the seating chart. For example ticket seat says section: LW1 and row: GA0, while seating chart is labeled as sections 100 - 229. My goal is to have all the URI sessions purchased once the seeding is known. I may make it to a few other games of interest.

The tickets listed as LWR are all general admission behind the baskets on the lower level that are colored in blue. this is per the Capital Arena staff.

Oh also the numbers are meaningless and just for the sake of the ticket sellers , so if you have these tickets get there early since they are general admission assigned first come first served as far as seat location in those blue sections.

Yup. I called the box office there today. I plan to get there an hour before the game and claim our seats. Hopefully the RUCKUS will be there in force!! Horrible that Ticketmaster fools you and gives you seat numbers.luke wrote:Oh also the numbers are meaningless and just for the sake of the ticket sellers , so if you have these tickets get there early since they are general admission assigned first come first served as far as seat location in those blue sections.

For those heading to DC for the A10 Tourney, the Alumni association is holding pregame receptions (hopefully for all 3 games) at Bar Deco a few blocks from the Arena. Here's the link with all the info:

None of that should have mattered. Make a couple of free throws and the game was won.
We don't score in the last few minutes of close games. When you think about it, this isn't anything new.

Really?
Suppose we lose Friday, St Bonaventure and Davidson meet in the Championship game on Sunday. Davidson wins and gets the auto bid.
You think 3 A10 teams get in?
You think they pick URI over St Bonaventure?
I don't think it is near as automatic as most of you are thinking.

Let me reword it.......
If URI Loses Friday and St Bonaventure plays another team - take your pick VCU, Richmond, St Joe, St Louis, GMU etc - and the team that St Bonaventure plays beats St Bonaventure then I think URI is out, St Bonaventure is in for having made it to the Championship game.
I do not think there is any way that the NCAA takes 3 teams from the A10 this year. Heck posters here have been posting all season about how crappy the A10 is this year, now they think the A10 will get 3 bids? I have been much higher than most here about the A10 all season but I think URI is in very big trouble if they lose on Friday, Bonnies lose in the Championship game and someone like VCU, Dayton, SLU, GMU, St Joe's shocks the world and wins the A10. If URI is out then the Championship game becomes a free for all.
But URI would have:
Lost St Bonaventure
Won @ LaSalle in OT
Won Dayton
Lost in destroyed fashion by 30 to a bad St Joe team
Lost @ Davidson
Lost to 8/9 seed in A10 Tournament
Losing 4 of last 6 will be a bad position to be in if someone other than St Bonaventure wins the A10 and Bonnies come in 2nd. Odds are slim but it's not good that this type of scenario even seems plausible now

Re: 2018 Atlantic 10 Tournament - Washington, D.C.
The reality is, they're not as good as we thought they were.
Our piss poor play in the last few minutes of games has come back to haunt us. For whatever reason or excuse.
We were never meant to be a 4 or 5 seed. Now it's just get in.
We're giving the committee reasons to leave us out.
And like was said, if we don't win Friday do we even deserve to be in? Right now, our numbers are still good enough, but another bad loss....

Re: 2018 Atlantic 10 Tournament - Washington, D.C.
What is amazing is that we could be playing any one of 9 teams in our game on Friday vs the 8/9 seed winner from Thursday.
Saturday will be crazy.
I would not want to play VCU, Dayton or St Joseph's in the Friday game but it could happen. Friday is far from an automatic victory
SLU (9-8) vs St Bonaventure - Bonnies by 2.5
GMU (9-8) vs Richmond - GMU by 2
St Joseph's (9-8) vs LaSalle - St Joseph's by 5.5
VCU (8-9) @ Fordham - VCU by 5
Richmond (8-9) @ GMU - GMU by 2
Duquesne (7-10) @ UMASS - UMASS by 2
George Washington (7-10) @ Dayton - Dayton by 5
Dayton (7-10) vs George Washington - Dayton by 5
LaSalle (7-10) @ St Joseph's - St Joseph's by 5.5
Standings if the favorites win Saturday:
1-URI
2-Bonaventure
3-Davidson
4-GMU (10-8)
5-St Joseph's (10-8)
6-Saint Louis (9-9)
7-VCU (9-9)
8-Richmond (9-9)
9-Dayton (8-10)
10-Duquesne (7-11)
11-George Washington (7-11)
12-LaSalle (7-11)
So I have not figured out the tiebreakers but if the favorites win on Saturday then URI would play the winner of 9-seed Dayton and from among the teams tied at (9-9) VCU, Richmond or Saint Louis.

VCU has a knack for playing well in the tourney. They have made the final what 8 straight years?
We know about Joe's....they have stepped it up in the past too.
Not worried about Dayton. The others not so much either.

Re: 2018 Atlantic 10 Tournament - Washington, D.C.
Although I am very firmly on the 'optimistic' side of the spectrum about the state of our team, if we lose our first game of the tourney I would definitely be nervous on selection sunday. I think there is a slim chance we lose our first game, but for the sake of hypotheticals I'll explain my reasoning.
Before our recent 3 losses, the strength of our resume lay in our number of overall wins and lack of losses. Our worst loss was at Bama, which wasn't a bad loss at all.
If we lost our first game, we would be limping into selection sunday losing 4 out of 6 games and with a very damaged resume. 3 quality wins and 7 losses is not "lock worthy"

Want to read my post again and have an actual discussion? I still think we're a great team but right now our resume does not accurately reflect our ability. 3 quality wins and 4 losses in last 6 games (3 of which would be to non-tournament teams) is not a lock resume.Blue Man wrote:I tried reading through this and stopped so I guess I’m back to the point where I just put a post out there that says:

Re: 2018 Atlantic 10 Tournament - Washington, D.C.
I'm with those who don't think we are a lock if we lose Friday. We have a total of 5 top 100 wins including 3 in the top 50. We have O top 100 road wins (in the past people on this board have screamed that Syracuse shouldn't be in because they had no road wins). Up until last Tuesday, what made us a lock is that we had NO bad losses and seemed destined to keep that in tact.
With a loss on Friday, we will not have added to our quality win totals, but will have added two BAD losses. How the hell is 5 top 100 wins with none coming on the road a lock? Is it because we played one of the most difficult OOCs playing UNCA, Charleston, and FGCU all at home? If it is, this will have to be one of the worse fields in NCAA history.

Can you tell me why we were seeded a 4 or 5 last week? Maybe that might help you.

exactly blueram....it is hard to imagine going from a 4 or 5 seed to out of the tournament in 3 games. so we are probably in, but you will be squirming if we lose on Friday.
look at it this way...if you never saw a bracket, didn't know our RPI and had no inkling of our national ranking, but just looked at our resume and saw that we were 5-5 vs top 100 RPI with none of those wins on the road, would you honestly say.."Yeah, that team is definitely worthy of an at large bid"?

I'm not squirming about the bid. We are a lock. I'm squirming about our seed. We should have been a 5 seed but this week has squashed that.

I will be squirming with a Friday loss, but I really hope it doesn't come to that. Before last Tuesday, I was hoping for a win out, a 4 seed and a very realisting chance of dancing into the second week. Now we are at let's just get in and anything can happen. That's a major letdown over the last handful of days.
