I have seen that the AP had the attendance for last nights game at 7657. Is this fact? If so that’s really good for a Tuesday 8:30pm start time.

That (7657) is the capacity number. I saw again this morning, and heard last night 7019, which is still excellent and better than expected on this board (see poll)Rhodysk wrote:I have seen that the AP had the attendance for last nights game at 7657. I was in a different seat, but it looks like they had opened 1 extra section in the 300s to student seating, so I imagine there were 2000 student tix given out last night instead of the regular 1500

The box score on gorhody.com says 7019 for attendance. That is awesome. A near sell out. However, the upper levels didn't look that full - the eyes tell me there are more than 639 empty seats up there, but that's just a guess. Either way, the crowd sounded incredibly loud on tv (other than the obvious few minutes of uncertainty after EC's injury).urirx wrote:That (7657) is the capacity number. The students sounded well hydrated

The students have been great this year! Let's hope that our program continues to be worthy of their continued support as they become alumni.

yup, easily the most "disruptive" they have been all year. They hounded and harassed Richmond from buzzer to buzzer, and REALLY got after Golden with the EC injuryRhowdyRam02 wrote:The students sounded well hydrated

65 estimates and 7 were correct, including myself , at 7001 to 7200
Most frequent guess was 6001 to 6200 with 13 posters or 20% guessing 1000 too low
Upon my arrival to the parking lot at 7:20pm (always 1 hour 10 min early and would be 1 hour 40 min early if they would open the doors 90 min early) the cars parked or in process of parking was the highest i had seen all year. I knew immediately it was going to be a big crowd
Section 309 and 310 has roughly their last 6 rows relatively empty but otherwise place was full
Good turnout by students but must impressive was the turn out of non students. These were URI fans turning out for an 8:30 game.
Atmosphere was electric. T-shirts free and white out great idea, teddy bear toss at half time was nice. Band was great.
The multi pass fast break was phenomenal
ECs injury had the sound of a library for a long time and understandably so.
A great night, liked the 8:30 start time for a change and people there will no doubt return for more

I'll be happy to be that wrong about attendance going forward!ramster wrote:65 estimates and 7 were correct, including myself , at 7001 to 7200
