That's funny. I was just wondering if we were recruiting him. Cordell could really get off the floor. Looks like his son does the same.

Cordell's brother was also a high flyer. Rocky Llewellyn had a solid career with the Bonnies. Some good athletes in that family.

Haven't had any fortune with past Rams kids in past, Bonzie Colson and Mergin Sina's sons anyway. Hopefully we can get a little luck here with Jaelin and also with Hassan's brother Malik.

What's the story with Malik?
Like soldiers on a Winter's night with a vow to DEFEND, no retreat baby, no surrender.

Is Malik even a D-1 prospect?
Who's offered him, so far?

URI and Towson have offered Malik so far. Has another year in AAU to develop. Has some interest from Hofstra and Syracuse(?) as well.

Committed to Princeton. That seems... surprising. Good for him!

Re: '18 Canada PG Jaelin Llewellyn
Is he a 4* recruit? After this year, we will be minus EC, Jared, Kuran and Stan. Need some 4* recruits this cycle. Or else we will have none.

Re: '18 Canada PG Jaelin Llewellyn (Princeton Commit)
I think everyone gets too caught up with the 4* ranking. Rankings are subjective and based a lot on what school someone signs with.
Fatts Russell would've rocketed to a 5 star if he signed with Kentucky.

Many times it's assumed to be this, because the big updates come in the summer as tournaments play out.Blue Man wrote:Rankings are subjective and based a lot on what school someone signs with.
A guy who was previously ranked 100+ and all of a sudden has a breakout summer may get an offer from Duke, signs with Duke, and then all of a sudden the next ranking update comes out and he's top 30 and people say it's because he signed with Duke.
No, it's because he had a great summer (maybe because he grew, improved skills drastically, etc.) and if someone actively followed someone's recruitment they would know this.

After a nice three years at Princeton, he's in the portal.

I guess there’s going to be a lot of ‘18 players from the Ivy league schools transferring. They’ve used up their four years, and the conference decided not to give them another. If they want to play another year of basketball, it will have to be somewhere else.

Oh, so for the Ivy it isn't possible for one to get another year? They can't do a grad year even though there are grad programs? He has no choice but to enter the portal or finish his college career?

Re: '18 Canada PG Jaelin Llewellyn (Princeton Commit)
Nope. They made an exception for their own ‘21 seniors for this year who were offered an extra year but voted against expanding it to everyone. So yeah, they can transfer or be done.steviep123 wrote: ↑2 years agoOh, so for the Ivy it isn't possible for one to get another year? They can't do a grad year even though there are grad programs?
