This team's problems are all mental. No pressure after losing the last couple of important games, so they start strong today. Then in the last 5 seconds when EC actually needs the second shot? Almost an air ball.

I don't post that often but it is a game that you should be happy they won! They finally closed out a close game. Yes they let a substantial lead slip away but didn't totally collapse. Robinson had a hell of a game & made some crucial FT when it counted. Dowtin is no longer a freshman guard, he's a seasoned player, smart, a leader. I'm one Rhody fan that's happy they won.

Re: Game #26: @ George Mason, Saturday Feb 18, 4:00PM NBCSN
Tough road environment, important game for both teams
8 rebounds 9 points from KI were important
5 rebounds by Dowtin was next best to Iverson
Dowtin's 7 assists were the game high and more than George Masons team total of 6 plus Jeff had zero turnovers
Robinson with a strong case for more PT - great offensive game plus 3 huge steals
So nice to win a close one and on the road
We are still breathing

Settle down friend. You have to have a sense of humor about this stuff. You don't see the irony of a guy who is so new I still have to approve their posts saying he is quitting? I hope you don't quit. Stick around and vent with the rest of us.NEYankee wrote:Soooo... my 'rookie' status on this forum is a measure of my ability to comment? But I don't think he was insulting you,
just saying it was a record-fast abandonment of
Rhody, less than 1 game...
Their play has been turning people off lately.
I could be wrong, of course...
But don't leave on one person's behalf.

Well, they did all they could to lose the game,
but won in spite of themselves.
Blew an 18 point second half lead!
Robinson played a great game, his best of
his college career.
If not for him, it's a loss.
Dowtin played well, too.
Other than those two, P.U.!
EC starts 4-4 and finished 2 of his last 11 shots.
Free throws saved them.
If they shot at their usual percent, they lose this one, too.

Re: Game #26: @ George Mason, Saturday Feb 18, 4:00PM NBCSN
Had to watch on DVR today and just finished, nice road win. On to the next one.
I have to give Stan his props, I called him out last game for not playing well in a long time. He killed it today. Dowtin as well. There was a play with about 1:30 left and it was tied 69-69 and Dowtin drove to the hoop and made a spectacular pass to Iverson for a layup to take the lead. Huge difference making play. Anybody else on the team takes that ball and runs over his guy for a charge or loses it out of bounds or throws up some wild shot. He made a fantastic pass to a wide open cutter and it was a huge basket.

Well during work today, I saw the halftime score and thought it's Jeykll and Hyde time again with this team.....the former this time.
Then I saw the update with 7+ to go when it was 57-55, and I figured they would lose......they almost always do in that situation....
Then I saw the final....and was pleasantly surprised for once.
After reading these posts, it's apparent that JD is a heady player and we are very fortunate to have him....and if Fatts is the real deal when it comes to BB IQ we might have a very nice backcourt.....could make our offense much more cohesive.....
Next year we should be OK with Jarvis and JD....but it will be interesting to see how many minutes Russell gets as the season goes on.....
And EC if he's still here might be seeing less minutes.
Still however, they have to get another big or two if there's any hope of being a threat to dance.

Really fun win. Glad for the money line. Agree with what's being said, Hass getting the ball down low time after time was insane. Agree sometimes Hass like Iverson is a better player when the game comes to them not run through them. Really nice win.

Has anybody mentioned the Langevine block? He was way up for that one, caught it at its apex. That was pretty. I like his defense and rebounding going forward. I wish he could just make a layup. He's tough to watch on the offensive end.

Hopefully he gets the help he needs to improve his offense.....in the offseason.
As for Mike L.......it's hard to imagine him improving enough to be a major positive next season......if he had anything he would be playing more than he is.
Tertsea was supposed to be the project......

It really is perplexing how he can miss sooooo many layups. Makes no sense.Billyboy78 wrote:Has anybody mentioned the Langevine block? He was way up for that one, caught it at its apex. He shoots like 10% from 2 feet.
He'll be alright though.
As long as he stays aggressive.
Pretty good win!
We played very well at times. Like the team we want them to be.
Alas, lots of dumb mistakes and inconsistency as usual.
Gotta get a top four seed somehow someway.
