As best I can tell he'll make $99,418 with these two ten day contracts. After this ten day contract Memphis has to sign him for the rest of the season or release him, they can't sign him to another ten day contract.

Memphis is also on track to make the playoffs. I'm not sure how NBA playoff rosters work, but would be awesome to see X along for that ride, as well.

Read some article with the head coach of Memphis talking about X and he said that if he plays well enough he could become as valuable to them as a draft pick would. Develop him and all that
He's talented enough to be a back up PG for some one.
he's gotten better every year. From good d league PG to a d league all star PG and getting called up to the Grizzlies. Dunked on Paul Pierce.

Great for X. He's paid his dues in the D League for chump change and $100,000 is nice, more if he stays around the rest of the year. He dunked on Paul Pierce? Is that a big deal these days?

You mean my picture???

I just saw that former Rhody player Chris Holm (You may remember he was the other big man who Baron booted because he had some deal going with Jon Clark's father) is the assistant DOBO with GW who is heading to the NIT finals. It's nice to see he had a good European career and is off to a good start in the coaching ranks.

You are right!!!!
Here is an interesting view on the individual player performances last night from a Memphis writer:

http://www.grizzlybearblues.com/2016/3/ ... 2016-03-30
Grade: B
Xavier Munford: 12 min, 9 p, 3 r, 1 a, -1
Not bad, sir. A cool 9 points in a quarter of play is better output than we could expect from most 10 day guys. One gets the sense that Joerger likes him better than the other mercenaries we've brought in.

Interesting.........on one thread we have a dscussion about PC great guards with Dunn and Cotton in the mix.......then tonight Memphis inks a 10 day contract with Bryce Cotton while letting McCallumm go.
So Cotton and Munford will be competing for playing time.

I think that per the 10-day rules, you can only extend a guy so many times before you have to give him a full contract for the year. (I think it's twice.) Unfortunately, Munford might get crowded out soon, since the Grizzlies extended Jordan Farmar for the year: http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/15105 ... est-season

Yeah I think he was the A-10 scoring leader in his junior year and was the only reason we won a game and got hosed.
Maybe was second in scoring in the A-10. X got no respect from the A-10.

That day was devastating. And I never would have imagined no Dance for the next 17 years. Harrick's hiring changed the culture of URI basketball. Al was a good coach but never wanted to do the glad handing to promote the program. Harrick did a lot of that.
All of a sudden we were a national story with the chance to lure top 100 recruits here.
So typical URI ...lose Harrick and hire a guy who could come from a CYO team.
It still drives me nuts.
I don't ever expect to see a more accomplished coach here as Harrick. And one as incompetent as Jerry.

Munford Stats were:
34 minutes (2nd highest on the team)
4-8 FG, 1-1 on 3PFG, 1-2 FT, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 turnovers, 2 steals for 10 points

Memphis lost their 6 straight game with 5 games to go. Memphis is in 5th place of the 8 teams to go to the playoffs
5 teams fighting for the last 4 spots
Memphis 41-36 (but with 6 straight losses)
Portland 41-37
Dallas 39-38
Utah 39-38
Houston 38-39

Memphis remaining schedule is very tough. Possible they could lose all 5.
Tuesday April 5 Chicago 39-38
Friday April 8 @ Dallas 39-38
Saturday April 9 Golden State 69-8
Tuesday April 12 Los Angeles Clippers 48-28
Wednesday April 13 @ Golden State 69-8

Right, Munford is 6-11 on 3FGs and only 4-8 on FTs but it is how the team plays while he is running it that will be the key to whether he stays with 34 minutes per game. Memphis absolutely has to win some games and get to the playoffs. It's going to be tough.

Jordan Farmar and Tony Allen, the two starting guards, only played 14 minutes each. Munford and Vince Carter got the bulk of the Guard Minutes.
Farmer was 1-5 FG and 0-3 on threes
Allen was 5-8 FG and 0-2 on threes

Would love to see Munford and Carter starting next game
