His junior college stats don't excite me. Maybe there's more than meets the eye, but other than height, I'm not sure what he brings.

Re: '15 JUCO C - Ousmane Ba
His height excites me. Also people need to stop bringing up Blake vedder, he came in untested. Doesn't mean every 7 footer we try to get wont make a layup. I say go for it.

Re: '15 JUCO C - Ousmane Ba
He brings a great name!!!
Unless there is something that is not obvious, (eg like playing with a broken hand and leg) this has to be a real stretch being an offensive step down from Earl.
If we sign him, it will seem like a semi-panic move and will be very dissappointing.

Geez, TP, one of us should make a similar highlight.
It proves he can score against nobody with nobody playing.
Very impressive!

I literally LOLed when I saw the "highlight" film. He can't even score 10 points on a court by himself. Don't even know what to say honestly. It's crazy.

We should definitely only evaluate this kid based off that weird Youtube clip and not at all based on what Dan and the staff think after meeting him and working him out in the gym...

He's invisible on the Ba video. That's why Ba is having so much trouble getting to the rim.Billyboy78 wrote:Where's the Greek kid...

I don't endorse mean spiritedness about the video. It is incredible, but it is either hilarious or adorable, depending on his intent. In either case, it is endearing. I don't think calling it pathetic is necessary.

I presumed his intent was to showcase his talents. If so, I stand by "pathetic". There's nothing endearing about it.TruePoint wrote:I don't endorse mean spiritedness about the video. Re: '15 JUCO C - Ousmane Ba
Are these 2 the best we can get?
I could make a video of myself walking around the court missing jumpers too, if that's what it takes.
Seriously, is the staff serious?
Dumpster diving, indeed.
If we offer either of them, THAT is pathetic......

WTF!!! I have 8th graders that I coach that would eat this stiff up. Don't they know about editing out 8 missed jumpers in a row?
Layup percentage is 50%. Are we paying expenses to bring this kid in for a visit? Is this a joke, or are we looking at kids that would get cut at some high schools?

We need someone that will give Iffy and Earl
more confidence, by feeling like Hakeem Olajuon,
by playing against Ba.

The video was uploaded 2 years ago. I would assume he is a lot better. 6'10 kids are also later to develop. We don't need a world beater, just someone who could develop under coach hurley and provide us a few serviceable minutes off the bench next year.

Re: '15 JUCO C - Ousmane Ba
Ba and Berry , in my opinion, are not of the caliber we need to bring us to where we aspire to be and adding one of them to the roster gives us nothing we can't live without...A repentant and committed Jordan Hare is by far our best alternative at this point . Given the apparent lack of quality big men we seem to be involved with, this seems to me to be a very real possibility.. I for one would not be unhappy with this at all....this kid was a 4 star out of high school and was on the lists of schools like Kentucky, Michigan and Michigan State...His talent and ability were never the question , his judgement and seeming inability to commit to "the cause" were/still are the questions. He has two years to turn things around and make a name for himself and if he has "seen the light" and can make that commitment his addition to this team would elevate us big time...
If he is repentant and committed...

Exactly. Can we just end the Hare nonsense? He's a two time quitter. And Rod says there's another baby on the way. Yeah, there's a great recipe to have a committed and focused ball player.

1. We're not sure that's our guy in the highlight video, right?
2. The music choice may be the funniest part of the whole video, for me.

Really?? I think you are mistaken. See if he is in the summer session and then make your judgment. Also don't cut people off, it's rude and also presumptuous

As the person who posted that video, I would be remiss by not pointing out it was a couple of years old (at least) and was obviously amateurish, probably done on a cell phone. While the video is hideous, I did not mean to imply that it was a true representation of his abilities.Smokinjimit wrote:I have no words for that video. I'd be interested in hearing from someone in the know how the "tryout" worked out. Both guys played for decent high school programs so I doubt they're complete stiffs. But how much they'd be able to contribute is still an open question. There are still guys out there (like recent Princeton de-commit Wyatt Walker, who I mentioned in another thread), so I totally haven't given up hope.
