A lot of A10 teams probably interested in Johnson

Looks like David Cox may have recruited Johnson,
while he was at Rutgers.
6'7". pretty thin, supposedly a shooter.
Was a four star and rated # 86 by ESPN.
He's from PA.

Ace will fill us in, after she comes back from her walk across the The Schuylkill River.
Meanwhile, I wonder if this kid could get a waiver,
because of Syracuse's NCAA problems?

Ultimate props for spelling Schuylkill correctly.
Out of Lower Merion High School, home of Kobe.
As for the earlier talk on Jamal Wilson, how much does he wish his time at Rhode Island came just a little bit later? Jamal was around the team in the summer of 2012 when they were trying to work something out and really connected with Dan.

You know, Jamal had serious talent, was a good kid, and
a good student.
He really got the shaft from CFL, almost from the beginning.
I first saw him on a tape, where he was on a Philly TV stattion.
His dream was to be a weatherman.
The Philly station had him on as a guest weatherman.
He had a great personality, and it was refreshing to hear someone
say something other than they wanted to be an NBA player.

I remember one of the first things I heard when in Philly was that the Schuylkill expressway took so long to build that when it was completed, it was 5 years out of date (whatever that means).
Did we ever know why Wilson was treated the way he was by the walrus?

The last farce had to do with finding Billy
playing time, when he became eligible.
Didn't Andre Malone get suspended for grades,
even though he was eligible by NCAA standards?
Both guys played 2 guard, which was Billy's position
at the time.

I wish Von B-ron played more guys even minutes. Jamal. Mejia. Not stars but guys that were change of pace. Jamal was talented in that he added with athletic stuff, rebounds/defense before he was scoring big.
A team on the cusp of a berth every year could have used more production in spots.
Guys would have been more fresh.

Another name I have heard us pop up with recently is AJ Wilson. He is a 6'7 athletic forward with long arms. Has a load of potential. He is a 2016 kid who is currently at Montrose Christian, having transferred in from Duval last year.

Expecting some sort of blockbuster type of recruitment. Bill Reynolds quotes Dan in yesterday's Pro-Jo on the state of the program "What happens next is going to be big and it's going to be beautiful "
Checking every day for some clue but there is nothing out there.

Re: General Recruiting Discussion/Comments
I really don't, Jim. I think everyone had been concentrating on the season.
Now that it's over, I think information will be coming on recruiting.
I've heard things, like Oneykaba and maybe Butler are leaving.
Supposedly two players will be announced, but who they are and
when, nobody is talking.
Was told one is "high profile" and a secret. My guess from that is,
this guy is still playing somewhere. Post grad, or transfer who may get a waiver?
Maybe a guy like Gibbs of Seton Hall? No clue.
They are working as though they have more than one scholarship.
Also heard they want Sina, but he may go elsewhere.

Re: General Recruiting Discussion/Comments
He is talking about the program taking the next step next year, not an individual player coming in. Not that there won't be one of those, too (fingers crossed), but that wasn't some cryptic nod to it by Dan. He's just reassuring our eggshell psyche'd fan base that things are still going well.Billyboy78 wrote:He might still be playing?bressler3south wrote:Well, look for the "….big and it's going to be beautiful" left out there and track 'em down in the Interverse!Rhodekill wrote:Expecting some sort of blockbuster type of recruitment. He also told someone that one of thse unnamed players,
"Is kind of a high profile guy, so we're keeping quiet on it",
or words to that affect.
That leads me to think as I've said, it's someone who's playing,
or was still playing, when he said that.
I'm dreaming one is Sterling Gibbs, who would instantly solve the shooting
dilemma for us, and the other is the elusive big man, that we need.

Just throwing this out there also- this is the time of year that some signed '15s might take a second look at their situations. It's not quite as clear as some other options, though. Oklahoma State actually turned out to be decent and released Terrell, but it obviously doesn't always work out like that.

Lots of fired coaches, too. And schools generally will grant a release for that. Thurl Bailey's kid committed to ASU and has decommitted. 4 star. BC got a top 125 kid last year after Cuonzo Martin took the Cal job. Kid was from Africa originally, I think, committed to Cal and then to BC via Pres Murphy. You really have no idea where it comes from. You would think there is one spring kid (at least) up DH's sleeve, even if he doesn't know it yet.

I wonder what is up with Harris. I don't follow the PC program closely enough to know the backstory, but it was definitely strongly insinuated if not outright stated before the season started that Harris would not be back next year I wonder why.

At least according to the latest Projo podcast with KMac and Koch, Cooley recruited for his position even though he had a year left. And at Sean and some others have hinted, there is a lot of smoke out there that Harris' father is difficult to deal with.TruePoint wrote:I wonder what is up with Harris. Something to consider within the A-10.
GW, Dayton and UMass are all bringing in big men next season.
Not freshmen, but transfers for GW and Dayton, and a 6'10' guy who
sat out this season at UMass, due to academics.
