VCU fan here. Not a troll. Disappointed that URI didn't make the NCAA, as you have a classy program based on aggressive defense. I think that VCU and URI have similar programs and fan bases, so it's easy to root for you.
Looking forward to an ultra-competitive season next year in the A10. Shaka mentioned this in his post-game presser on Sunday. So many young teams with talented players. I am hoping that the OOC scheduling of A10 teams is ambitious, and we get 6 or more in the NCAA next year.
Hang tough. Roll through the NIT and win it all. See you in Brooklyn next year.

GY=URI, people are just kidding. We bust each other plenty here.
It's like a cyber sports bar.
nowaczykf, I think many of us feel as you do. VCU is the program we
most want to emulate.
Shaka is the coach we want Hurley to morph into.
VCU fans are welcomed here, as District Balller can attest.

Does Shavon Thompson graduate? . I wish.
Syracuse's Christmas?
We need a guy that is better than Earl is right now, and then we need Earl to be better than he is right now.
I think Earl can be better in terms of less fouling and more confidence. When he feels comfortable his offensive rebounding is out of this world. I think he drew a foul on the opposing team every game he played while offensive rebounding.
Then we need Iverson to fully buy in and the NCAA to throw us a bone. BUT HE WAS KIND OF KICKED OUT, maybe they waive for that?
And a NIT title. We need a NIT title.

We are literally trying to be you guys. Everyone is starting to buy in up here, hopefully we start to see what you guys have. You guys dominated Brooklyn, hopefully we'll have the same type of contingent there in the years to come.nowaczykf wrote:VCU fan here. Not a troll. 4 games in 4 days, without their PG, who led the country in steals. And their best player with a bad ankle.

Re: State of the Program/Our Fan's Sanity
The team under Hurley has been a true pleasure to watch. IMO he totally got robbed by not being A-10 coach of the year. Unlike some previous coaches I never once felt like we were doomed. I thought we could pull it off right up until the last minute. It was extraordinarily exciting. Most upsetting thing was not getting to see us play Sunday.
Looking forward to the tournament next year. Hopefully as I have read on here BWW is out for alumni events. There are some really nice local places with a much better floor plan we could grab. I think I will actually book hotel a few months out as I am confident we will be back and strong.
As for VCU totally agree on the fan base being similar. Very nice people. Some of the other teams fans I have a few questions on...
Also, VCU's band is nothing short of phenomenal.

I hope the big man coming is a big man coach who can teach the
guards (and Hurley) how to involve the big man more. And also to get Iffy
off the bench and Jordan Hare back on the TEAM.....
GY=URI,
I think you should reconsider and continue to post. I was kidding when I saw that you wrote Jordan Hare's name - I thought to myself "Uh oh....look out" because I know the extreme feelings towards the guys ability.
Believe me I have taken a beating on the guy and as excited as I was to have him come back it just broke my heart when he did not stick with the team this year. I think he should have stuck it out even if he was not the starting line up from day 1. Some don't think he ever would have been in the starting line up but that was certainly not me. It was a shame that we lost Rokas Gustys who we were on strongly then that initiative faded when Jordan announced his return to the surprise / shock of many. So we not only gained then lost Hare, but also quite possibly a big man or two who might have considered us.
At any rate I think Hare would have helped us a lot - BUT if the chemistry with the team was not going to be there then the decision was right for all. I wish him well - and think he is a very funny, talented individual who unfortunatly did not have things work out for him here for whatever reason(s).
The board is fun, full of absolutely passionate fans many of whom have long seniority.
What I wish there was more of would be posters like you who post what they think that might be different from the majority. I agree with some of what you posted. Got me to thinking.
I also wish there was more tolerance for differing opinions and not calling people names or degrading them as unknowledge - there is too much agree with me or else
But bottom line it's a great place and you should feel free to post imho

George Reeves. Lots of speculation as to how he died.
The movie Hollywoodland, starring Ben Affleck as Reeves,
was a fascinating look at his death and showed
three possibilities that could have lead to his death.

My ex-wife used to hate it, when I insisted on ironing my suits,
when I came home from work or going out.
I asked her, "You're not doing it, so why do you care?"
"Well, it's stupid!" was her reply.
Nothing worse than people looking like they slept in their clothes.

There is absolutely no reason to wear nice clothing (a suit) if you're going to wear it wrinkled. A 'nice' suit that is wrinkled makes a person look homeless, wrinkled casual clothing usually makes a person look blue collar, which doesn't even cause an eyebrow to be raised. A wrinkled suit conjures images of weeks without bathing.
