Looks like Danny and the boys are stepping up their game, getting involved with four and, now, five-star prospects.

Perhaps Brown is one of the guys. He's determined to be re-classified for this year….

We'll have to beat out teams like UConn, Indiana and Michigan for Brown.

Well, interesting that you mention Mann, as Florida State is still recruiting '15 and '16 combo guards and small forwards….rodfromcranston wrote:We said that about Terrance Mann, too.

Re: '16 MA G Bruce Brown
Who was the player that Ok St recruited after JT and how did he do this year?

Re: '16 MA G Bruce Brown
Outside looking in, the only reason I could see Mann wanting to be at FSU is that they have the only black coach in the ACC or he was wow'd by their football.
The basketball seems to have hit a high water mark with their run a few years ago. They have guys in the backcourt that were highly touted that aren't playing bad and they are bringing in a ton.
It just doesn't add up to me. Not much NBA success also.

Terrance would have been better off coming to Rhody in my humble opinion.....the combination of his mom's success with his talent could have gone a long way for creating life-long goodwill for them in the family...and the pro scouts will see you play here just as well as at Fla St.

Florida State basketball is the definition of an afterthought, on the level of Kentucky football.

Re: '16 MA G Bruce Brown
Never got Mann jumping in with FSU, as early as he did.
Looks like he's being given a lot of company for his potential
playing time.
It's not like he went to some great program.
Leonard Hamilton is the Steve Lavin of the South.
Great recruiter, lousy coach.

Re: '16 MA G Bruce Brown
I've long given up trying to figure out why these kids choose the schools they do. Maybe it was the ACC. Who knows? I will say I always thought the fact that his mom was the coach was a net negative. I mean, I love my mom but I can tell you who I didn't want rolling around the same campus as I was on when I was 18 years old.Ramulous wrote:Terrance would have been better off coming to Rhody in my humble opinion.....the combination of his mom's success with his talent could have gone a long way for creating life-long goodwill for them in the family...and the pro scouts will see you play here just as well as at Fla St.

I'm not sure what he's looking for, but he's EXACTLY what Dan is looking for...Ramulous wrote:What is Bruce Brown looking for in a college.....thought I would get this back on track.....

Bruce Brown is the best defensive guard in the class of 2016. It's no coincidence that Vermont Academy and his summer team (BABC EYBL) are among the best defensive teams in the country. He consistently shuts down the opposing team's best players, all while buying into the team philosophy. He also has the ability to guard all five positions. The 6'4 combo is dynamic on offense too; He excels in ball screens, on the block with his back to the basket, and in transition. His progression in the last 3 months have been obvious, we know he is underrated

Re: '16 MA G Bruce Brown
Guess not:
"Brown listed Arizona, Arizona State, Indiana, Michigan, St. John’s, Texas, and UNLV as the schools recruiting him. He’ll take unofficial visits to Arizona and Arizona State in the fall and will visit St. John’s next weekend.
“At Arizona, I’m talking to one of their assistant coaches,” he said. “He called me the other day and said that he wants me to come on a visit. I’m also going to Arizona State. I like [head coach Bobby] Hurley. He’s asked me to come there, score, and do whatever I want, basically.”
St. John’s has attracted Brown because of coach Chris Mullin’s background and the buzz he has created about the program."

"And do whatever I want?" That's not a quote you'll hear from anybody Dan gets to come here.
5 star or not, he's not coming here.....

Re: '16 MA G Bruce Brown
I think given our guard situation with the latest addition of Stan Ross it may be difficult to get guards to look at us for a while...
