I'm not sure, I know alcohol is not allowed at NCAA sponsored events (this is not). I think I remember in the past being able to get beer in atlantic city during the games

I just bought bus tickets from Peter Pan from Providence to New York roundtrip. It was only $60 and they have free wifi on board in case anyone was looking for transportation.

In the post-game, Steve MacDonald said URI sold out its allotment of tickets for the tournament, so if you want to go you'll have to get tickets directly from barclaycenter.com.

I so want to road trip for this tournament. But having just returned from Orlando, it's making it tough. If we get to Sunday, I am in my car and doing a turn and burn. I will not miss the finals for anything.

What would you estimate the ride time on the 5 train to the barcleys center subway stop?

Right now I'm booked at the Sleep Inn on 22nd, (good deal on Orbitz), but if some Rhody fans are in the Union and it's clean and in a safe area, I'll be happy to switch (I have until Wed to cancel for free at Sleep).

Nevermind..., I'm not going to switch. The Sleep has better Yelp reviews and is 4 stops away on the R train. Looking forward to meeting Rhody fans.

Also, I do plan on staying for the Finals regardless of what Rhody Does. Anyone else?

Are you in 120 on Saturday too Steve?

I'm in section 28 on Friday but I have 120 row 8 on Saturday. I haven't bought tickets for Sunday yet. If we don't get that far I'm probably going to head home that morning.

I haven't bought tickets for Sat yet - I'll buy them if they win on Friday (maybe on the cheap from a GW fan?), but if I do buy for Sat and Sun, I will let you know where they are.

Hey Everyone,

was looking into the Buffalo Wild Wings option and I'm against it for two reasons. First and foremost there seems to be plenty of local pubs in the area and that's more my thing. Second, the reception is between 7:30 and 8:30, and my preference is to see at least some of the previous game.

Doing a look around the area bars in Google Maps, the following look decent and I may try to pop in Friday pregame:

4th Avenue Pub:
http://www.yelp.com/biz/4th-avenue-pub-brooklyn

Uncle Barry's:
http://www.yelp.com/biz/uncle-barrys-brooklyn

Pacific Standard:

http://www.pacificstandardbrooklyn.com/

The Alchemy Tavern:

http://alchemybrooklyn.com/

I'm a craft beer guy, so those stood out to me and close by.

If anyone else wants to meet the wife and I or you have any other suggestions, let me know.

I think my plan is going to be to grab an early dinner and do some drinking at a place like those that you mentioned, then head over to BWW to join the Rhody contingent and get a little fired up before heading into the arena.

Actually, I was just in a BWW a week or so ago and their beer selection was not terrible. You aren't going to get anything there that you've never heard of before, but they had about 20 beers on tap and some of them were perfectly good. I was drinking Two Roads' pilsner and "slumming it" on that level works for me.

It is legit. The guy posting it is new and we have to approve his posts, and he kept editing it. Every time he edited it, it would disappear until one of the mods approved it.

Like any conference tourney, losing teams' fans tend to split, and our game is last. However, don't count on being allowed into a section other than the one your seat is in.

The Hotel Tonight app (app only) currently has a rate of $94 per night for the Best Western Plus. 860_rhody, you may want to see if you can cancel your reservation and save some $$$.

Unfortunately, the wife won't let me switch - she thinks the yelp reviews make it seem like it's in a sketchy area.

My brother lives in Brooklyn, and he's been kind enough to help coordinate for us on Friday. We are eating at Smoke Joint at 5PM on his recommendation. That place is a five minute walk to BWW/Barclays. I think the plan as of now is to head over to BWW after dinner to meet up with the Rhody contingent and watch the Dayton game and (presumably the PC/Nova game being played across the East River) and pregame.
