It's near the Mackal end of the arena where the URI players come in from their locker room. I think Rod sits in that section. Not sure where the coke tower is, but I'd guess it's near the north entrance.

What? Coke at the RC? Does DEA know about this?
ECR come by and say hello!
It's always nice to put the faces with the Keanyblue folks.
I'll be wearing a hideous over sized pink hoodie.
The only negative about sitting on that side of the court
is, no access to the floor level through the stands.

Coca-Cola Tower is the Main Box office tower on the north side main entrance of the building, opposite of Mackal.

Benchmarks for winning, need to hit on most (not all) of these.
-8 or fewer 3ptrs allowed
-Less than 14 TOs
-70% FTs

-14 or more TOs forced
-Three of EC, Hassan, Jarvis, Jared in double figures
-Fewer than 7 offensive rebounds allowed
SF what is the basis for this? Did the Bonnie's, Richmond or St Joes accomplish all these when they beat Davidson? I doubt it. If all of these happen, Rhody will win in a blowout. It isn't realistic to think Rhody will accomplish all of that. I feel they can (and will) still win even if they give up more the 8 threes (DU avgs 12.6) and force less than 14 TOs.

Good point on Gibbs. I checked into that. He missed 7 games. He has played the last two games and Davidson has scored 65 and 77 points. He played in the blowout loss to Richmond (he was 2-10 FGs) and the loss to VCU (he was 1-10 FGs).

I hope we get a sellout or close to it.
Our kids deserve support, especially in our biggest remaining
home game.
Gibbs is obviously rusty or still hurt.

This game will sell out. Every pink out game draws well - even in our worst couple of years.

A pink out game near the end of the season where there is NCAA talk about us in the press and around campus? After 2300 students and another 5000 fans saw us beat the shit out of a rival the week before?

I expect 2500+ students and 5000+ in the crowd.

No hard basis - just arbitrary things I will be looking for to see if we perform well in various aspects of the game. And note that I said we'll need to do most of them, not all

And as far as if the other teams did that:
-3ptrs allowed: Richmond 6, SJU 14, SBU 9
-FT%: Richmond 81%, SJU 56%, SBU 61%,
-3pt%: Richmond 45%, SJU 43%, SBU 23%
-TOs forced: Richmond 12, SJU 8, SBU 11
-Off. reb. allowed: Richmond 9, SJU, 9, SBU 10

So to answer your question, no, obviously not every team that beat Davidson accomplished those things, but each of those teams have different strengths than we do and different aspects of game-planning that I'm sure they focused on. Richmond and SJU won because they shot lights out from 3pt range. SBU won on a buzzer-beater and because they killed them on the boards. Unless we absolutely dominate in one or two phases like those teams did, performing solidly in several different facets is a reasonable goal to have. And we do not need to hit on all of those points, but I think that hitting a majority of them will result in a Rhody win. I don't think we disagree about that.

I selected those criteria because (in order), 3pt defense is a strength of ours and 3pt offense a strength of theirs, FT% has been inconsistent for us this year, 3pt% because while we have shot well over the past month prior to that we were among the worst in the country, TOs forced because we are 2nd in the conference in TO forced% (23.3%) while Davidson is the best in the a10 and third in the country at preventing TOs on offense (14.2%), and off. reb. allowed because if Davidson misses 3ptrs which I hope they will, that'll result in a lot of long rebounds which could lead to additional possessions, negating our efforts on perimeter defense if we can't close out possessions.

Long story short, I selected those numbers arbitrarily. I think each of those phases will be critical to URI earning a victory, but they do not need to hit on all of them.

Opening line is out and we are favored by 2. That's strictly because of home court with a spread that low, almost a toss-up in terms of how Vegas views the 2 teams on a neutral floor.

Hurley-
On Davidson's vaunted offense: They can all shoot and they can all handle the ball. The scheme of their offense is incredibly complex. They're probably one of the three or four best offensive teams in the country. What they did to Virginia – which is maybe the best defensive team in the country – is scary. It's about trying to put together a game plan to limit them as much as possible, but they're going to score in here. The one thing that gives us hope is the last five games, we're much better offensively. We've averaged around 75 points per game in the last five games and we're going to have to score the ball if we're going to have a chance to win – because they're going to. The precision of their offense is unlike anything we've seen this year.

Matthews-
On the team's identity: At the beginning, we didn't know what type of team we were. Now we do and we know what we need to do. We feed off coach Hurley and our fans. We just go out there and have fun.

Terrell-
On his second Rookie of the Week honor: I got it earlier. It's a great feeling, but I'm more of a team player – winning games, winning championships.

"Hurley On how his team has handled success: That's the thing we didn't know because there just hasn't been a whole lot of winning, especially at this level, here. They've become more determined and more focused. We've asked them to go out these last few games here and treat them like they're championship games and play with championship intensity, championship focus. We've got to go out there tomorrow night and play angry, play with rage, play with emotion and incredible energy."

Save it for the road at Dayton, my guess is, there will be plenty of "rage" in that one.

The refs there, have their red sweater vests on, under their shirts.

Doesn't look like sales went as hoped. In section 213 alone, pretty good seats, there are almost 100 left. There are a lot more seats available on game day than there were against UMass. Going to need a huge walk up to come anywhere close to selling this one out.

Yeah I don't see us getting past 7k which is dissapointing. we got a decent boost from Umass fans last Wednesday that we won't get here. I hope they spread the word about the 2 for 20 deal. Only reason I knew about that was because of this board

I think they maxed the student crowd at the UMass game. I believe they reported 2,300 students.
I know they cap the student tickets at some number even if there are tickets still available. I don't know if the number is 2,300 or 2,500.

No snow forecasted for tonight (there was snow foecasted for the ride home from UMass game). Maybe that will increase the general public walk up crowd.

I am confident there will be 2,300 students for the Pink Out. That should make for a lowd crowd of 7,000.

If that's the game I'm thinking of, URI won it on a late layup by Mike Brown - 81-79. It might have even been overtime. I believe there was an A10-Old Big East double header on espn that night. Temple/BC played the other game. (Why do I remember this stuff)?
