Email just received from Ryan Center ticket operations regarding tickets available to ANYONE who needs them.

For the Rhode Island/Providence basketball game at the Dunkin Donuts Center, the Athletic Department was given a limited allotment of tickets to sell to qualifying donors (donors who gave over $1,000) a year.

The deadline for those donors to secure seats has passed, and we have some tickets available to sell. They are located in sections 226 and 225 of the Dunkin Donuts Center and are $17 each.

Tickets can be purchased at the Ryan Center Box Office or by calling the box office at (401) 874-7267 during normal operating hours (Monday-Friday 10-6, Saturday 10-2).

Please note: Ticket availability is limited, and is on a first come, first served basis.

The seat chart shows 225 and 226 sold out, so they must consider the tickets URI has as sold.
Sounds like URI miscalculated on how many tickets the donors would buy. Why not make them available first-come, first-served to all season ticket holders.

Yeah Rod the fan base is getting on in the years. But the last 11 graduating classes, roughly 33,000 students, attended URI and never saw a team dance. That has an impact. Hope this changes this year.

It's odd. My sister went to every single game in her four
years at URI.
She's never been to a single game since she graduated.
Same with her sorority sisters who still live in RI.

Did anyone opt for the mobile delivery option for their tickets? I haven't gotten mine sent yet.

Who has gotten theirs? I emailed Friars ticket office Friday at the tickets2@providence.edu address they provided in my ticket purchase confirmation email and no reply yet.

Let me know if you still have ticket trouble. Are those tickets issued through the Dunk? I get promotions from them all the time for suits and tickets for Friars games. I know people I can call who can help...being a Dunk/P-Bruins sponsor has it's perks.
Actually, what I should say in true RI guido fashion is "Hey, I know a guy that knows a guy. He'll take good care of you."

I think we will be fine. They are paid for and I have the confirmations code. I would think if they can't email them they can leave printed ones at will call. I'd like to avoid that will call line.

It will be interesting to watch the antics of Cooley in this game. While many have harped on the behaviour of Hurley at games, Cooley's actions at games are not above criticism. There was the dustup with Hurley at the game last year and Cooley's frustration seems to have really gotten to him in his last two losses. He was actually jawing with BC guard Olivier Hanlan last Friday during a timeout after a foul and his handshakes after the game with the opposing coaches of BC and Brown have not been the most personal and professional exchanges. Bill Belichick might even actually have had longer length handshakes and more conversation with the Jets Coach Rex Ryan after losses.

Cooley will want the refs on his side in this one.

We need to play well enough to take that out of play.

Or else more dustups could easily happen.

We need to be the aggressive team on both sides of the ball. Otherwise, PC will be parading to the foul line all night.

Both teams stink at the foul line, so that shouldn't be a big issue.

Saw that Brown shot 10-10 from the FT line late in the game when PC starting fouling.

Could we do that?

Anyone know of a lot in the city I could park at. Willing to pay more to avoid the hassle of getting out of the convention center garage.

We haven't been to a game in Providence in years. We won't be able to get there until just before 6. Recommendations for a quick bite to eat beforehand? Or should we just settle for arena food?

I usually park in one of the lots near the PPAC. It's a little bit of a walk, but not too bad.

i used to park at the mall parking garage, you can walk over inside to the dunk and it's cheaper. getting out can be tough (you have to pay before you leave the mall and then there is some traffic exiting)

To piggyback on this a bit - Parking and traffic in that area was horrible last time I went. I can't remember if it was a weekend game and there was also an event at the convention center, or if it was just because of the URI-PC game. Give yourself plenty of time, and as ATP suggests, it might be simpler to just park at PPlace, if you don't mind a bit of a walk. As long as you're there less than 5 hours, it's $2.

I miss the good old days. Used to park in front of the Peppermint Lounge on Broadway. The bouncer, a friend, watched my car. Walking to the CC wasn't bad. It was downhill. Of course, it was a long walk uphill if we lost.

Yes, we used to park on The Hill and walk down.
It wasn't nearly are popular after dark as it is now.

Another parking suggestion: there's a big lot on the opposite corner from where Union Station, Capital Grille, RiRa (now closed), Luxe Burger Bar, etc are. Those restaurants have a parking lot for them specifically, but it's expensive. On the other side of Memorial Blvd there's a much larger lot with lower prices. Cheapest option for parking is the mall.

Had something happen at the Dunk that I have never seen happen before. Had seats in section 105, row kk. We were in our seats & then a dad & his son came down saying that we were in their seats. We all pulled our tickets out...they had the same exact seats. Huh? So the ushers came over to sort all of this out. We moved down a row for the time being. The people in those seats showed up, so we moved down another row. Finally the supervisor usher came back & said there was some mixup (duh!) and that we would have to move & they gave us tickets in section 106. They were more towards center court by a section (a $55 ticket instead of the $37 I paid) but there were 4 of us in our group & they displaced 2 of us. Really friggin weird.

Spookydog, when we played at the Dunk for a lot of
home games, when Harrick was coach, that happened to me.
For some odd reason, I took my season ticket book with me.
Two guys claimed to have the same seats. They had tickets, too.
I showed the usher my season ticket book, and that ended that.
I still wonder, this many years later, how could duplicate tickets have
been issued?
