Hello Rhody Fans:

I wanted to stop by the fan board and make sure that all of our Rhody Faithful are aware of the Coach's Shows held on Thursday Nights at the Mews Tavern in the Celtic Pub. - As many of you know, the Mews is a great partner to Rhody Athletics / Ryan Center. Coach Hurley is very enthused by our fans, their loyalty and passion for the program and it is a great opportunity to mingle with him, his staff and get some of your questions answered. We have had some great crowds for the first two shows and we are hoping to sustain and improve that for the duration of the season. Thursdays during school session are bad for me, otherwise I would take the quick walk down to the Mews even on a cold night. Maybe I can catch the show during Winter break (for my wife who's in school).

Yeah I am more interested in what Thorr has to say about the Catholic Schools leaving the Big East and potentially poaching the big time A-10 schools. What are his thoughts on the A-10's future, and more importantly where URI stands in it.

You'll get a generic answer, because he's not at liberty to say what is
really happening, and who is staying, who is going, and who new targets are for
replacing those who leave.
Wasn't there supposed to be a Presidents meeting this week?
Did anyone read even a paragraph about it?
It's all sub rosa right now.

I read on another blog (one of the Philly papers maybe?) that the NYPost was wrong that the supposed A-10 President's Meeting wasn't happening today. There was a generic press release yesterday from the A10 office saying basically "we're following events closely" ....

I would imagine that the subject of the meeting, was to keep everybody informed on what's happening or not happening to this point. I'm sure the A10 is keeping a close eye on things.

In terms of future decisions, who knows?

There's probably lots of behind-the-scenes cajoling, arguing, pleading and explaining going on.

First 10 minutes or so Danny seems very disappointed with attendance by fans. Win and that will change!

I think we will see a good crowd for VCU next week, plus there are some other good home matchups the rest of the way.

Listening now...loved the comment when asked if he ever sits down and plans to with a better team in the future. He said "absolutely, and I can't wait. When I was coaching JR Smith there was plenty of sitting down when we were up 45 every game."

Hey Rhody Faithful - Tomorrow Night will mark our Final Radio Show for the season at the MEWS Tavern in the Celtic Pub - LIVE from 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Be great to have as many of you there as possible. I know this is something that Coach Hurley and the staff would really appreciate. He continually talks to us about the importance of the fan support here at Rhody and how much he appreciates it. We have had season ticket holders at every show and Coach is very generous with his time and appreciates everyone coming out. So spread the word and come on out for the last show if you can make it or be sure to tune in on i heart radio or 920 WHJJ - also a great way to support our partners at the MEWS TAVERN.

You can post questions to #ASKDAN on twitter or even post them here on the board - Steve and Don will be using the questions tomorrow to drive the content of the show - we did this last week and it was very successful. Our marketing team will pull some questions tomorrow and we will bring them to the show.

I've got a couple of good ones:

What is Dan's take on what might happen with the C7 and conference realignment, and how it might impact our program here at URI, and of course, the future makeup of the A10?

Has he read Cordishi's article, and what is his opinion of it? Pure speculation? Any truth to any of it? Can Dan reaffirm his committment to building a long lasting successful program here at URI, with him at the helm?

I already asked him about the realignment on last week's show.
Hurley might answer your question about leaving, but, you'll get a generic answer.
No matter how he'd answer it, those who want to believe he's packed and ready to go,
won't buy it.

I'm working on a plan to get to the show, at least for some of the first half (I'll have my almost 2yr old son with me). It would be great to have a chance to personally thank Dan and other members of his staff and the athletic dept for all they've done since last year to move Rhody Hoops towards a championship/NCAA caliber program. Probably have to get there a bit early to catch Dan and others as they file into the Celtic Pub.

Tell you what....they're going to need a bigger room at the Mews next year.
It was wall to wall people when we were there.
I expect audience of the show to blow up, just like the program will.

Def gonna need the main dining room next year if this stays at the Mews. I cruised through briefly and it was SRO. Had to go to Fat Belly's down the street for my Thursday burger. (It was real good too!)
Never ceases to amaze me how much biz the Mews does. Great business model, just brilliant.
Kudos to Hurley and DK, Steve Mac for doing the show. Helps keep the buzz going regarding our Rams here in South County!
