There are a bunch of people watching. I didn't know these were open to the public.

Could those be campers? This time of the year is typically camp season, so maybe they brought some of the young campers in to see how hard the players work?

Layssard seems slimmer then I thought he would be.

What a year for us, were actually big now. Seems like yesterday I was at the open practice for last season. Cannot wait.

I think they got Layssard and Langevine backwards. Isn't that Mike on the bottom left and Cyril on the bottom right?

it says to go clockwise, layssard is bottom right

That looks like Cyril on the bottom right to me.

Nice to have everyone there, now let's get to mid-November (and beyond) with a full, healthy roster- Garrett, Terrell, Matthews, Iverson, Martin, Robinson, Thompson, Dowtin, Akele, Berry, Layssard, Langevine, and Tertsea. If that is what happens, there could be the possibility of a redshirt. Too many good players... imagine that.

If I had to guess I would say Tersea first, although by position, where does Dowtin get playing time with all the good guards we have?

I'd say Dowtin would get the redshirt. No one up front because we are still kinda thin up there, Hass and Laysaard and Andre are the only heavier guys. The other three are skinny. But I like keeping Tertsea because of his height. Although, if he can't compete then he can't compete and he'll be redshirted.
Dowtin may prove valuable as a back up.
Although I can see everyone getting playing time in the non-conference especially if we actually have that full court pressure defense that Dan says we will have.

Why would you redshirt someone? With the way transfer rules work, if you redshirt them and they get real good, they will leave as a grad transfer (the threat is always there). If they agree to a redshirt, and then don't get the playing time they envision, they are basically stuck as they've burned the year they would have used to sit out.
If someone isn't good enough to contribute, they will leave. They won't be red shirted. Red Shirted is not nearly as prevalent as it use to be...

Agree with Bos8 in general that red shirting is somewhat a thing of the past. Though there are countless guys who could still benefit from that year off bulking up and getting used to game speed. That said, if there was going to be 1 red shirt my guess would be Langevine or Dowtin.

Layssard was the most regarded of the freshman and seems to have a polished offensive game and ability to be that stretch 4 forward type that Dan has yearned for. Tertsea has a 7'5" wingspan and is our only true Center...IMO they both bring something we don't already have and could need at some point this season so i wouldn't stash them away.

Dowtin is in a logjam at our most stacked position, and Langevine is a high potential guy but with Hass, Iverson, Akele and Layssard likely all better options at the 4 spot he prob wont see a lot of burn this year.

Red shirting is an option that's been expressed by the staff. I don't think they'll do it, either, but it can be presented to a player as a way to preserve a year of eligibility if he's not going to play much anyway. Nothing has to be decided for a long time, and they can see how the season and each player develops.

Great meal on Federal Hill. Rhode Island style chowder, calamari, bruschetta, antipasto, prosciutto pizza, eggplant parm, lasagna, tiramisu, two dozen cannolis.

I know Robinsons shooting numbers at Indiana have been mentioned here several times but I have heard very favorable things about him over the past year based on practices. To the extent he could or would be a starter on this year's team - he is not far off.

Accurate comparison to Lamb. 6'4", slender, huge wingspan, good outside shooter, can drive to the hole, foot floor vision, good passer, solid defensively, good rebounder

You could really make a whole thread about fake shit Rothstein says.

EC Matthews tears his ACL at an elite level, scouts have been raving about his ability to shred his knee ligaments. Shades of Willis McGahee.

Faux Rothstein's or not, don't ever write shit like that man, it's just wicked bad karma. Let's hope the basketball gods weren't pissed off. Go Rhody! Could be a very special year.

I'm just joking with you man. Kinda...

Thx for catching that. Love EC jumping up and down cheering his guys. I always get a little scared watching humans lift ridiculous amounts of mass, but I can also that they are doing it very officially -- proper spotting and technique.
