Real under-the-radar player. Looks like he only played 8 mins. a game in Turkey before he came to Florida. Bobby has connections in Florida so maybe he got a call.

Averaged 14.2 ppg this past year, 44% from 3, according to jacksonville.com. Alot of talent on his team, two 3 star 2013 forwards, Jovanovic (USC) and Boykin, and two more 3 star 2014 players, Buford and Jefferson.

I though we needed a two guard?
How does a 195lb SF fit the bill?
I know,"he's a shooter, blah, blah,blah...."

Arlington Country Day is Coached by Rex Morgan - the same Rex Morgan who played with Artis Gilmore and Pembroke Burrows to lead Jacksonville to the Championship Game against UCLA in 1970.
Morgan has been the Coach at ACD for a number of years, typically has several D1 players on his team and does not hesitate to take his team around the country to play in Tournaments.
Morgan was drafted by the Boston Celtics and played a couple of years with the Celts.

He plays for Arlington Country Day.

This team needs a scorer/shooter, doesn't much matter if he's listed as a 2 or a wing. Of course, I have no idea if this guy fits. He did score 16 against Huntington Prep. Flying under the radar is an understatement, though.

So, why is there a PC guy in the picture? Confused.
My point on SF is, we already have Martin and Reischel.
Too bad Williams didn't have a better shooting season at CCRI, because
that would make this a moot point.
6'6" guy who really is a SG, and can handle the ball.

"Providence Country Day" not PC.

The picture is of a PCD player; not sure if they were playing against Arlington and maybe that is an Arlington guy on defense? Hard to say.

Wasn't Ernie Fleming (Durfee High, Fall River) on that Jacksonville team? He played at Durfee the same time my brother did.

Sorry Ace, I corrected it, thanks for catching.
I meant to say Arlington but for some reason I typed Providence.
I have seen Arlington Country Day play a couple of years ago, back when Wally Judge was playing for them. I talked to Rex Morgan as well.
Rex always has strong teams at Arlington Country Day. Good that Bobby and Danny are going to visit him in Jacksonville and work on relationship building.

Let's slow the expectations for Martin. He's a freshman. Hare was a freshman with a similar recruiting ranking and -- as has been repeated by several on this board who would like to dump him after a grand total of 31 college games -- didn't do enough to make a serious impact.

He took 6.5 threes a game, so he's an outside shooter.

Danny made an interesting point in his last TV show. He said they took a lot of transfers last year because the most mistakes are made when you take players late in the recruiting cycle. In other words, by the time they got hired not much was out there. Look at some of the players Baron got late, like Rayvon Harris ... So I don't think Hurley's going to take a body just to fill a seat.

Martin and Hare should not be compared. Their games are worlds apart. Physically Hassan will not have the learning curve that Jordan had. First and foremost, he is pretty chiseled as a 17 year old, and secondly he will not be playing the 5 against men that outweigh him by 20-40 pounds any given night. I expected Hare to struggle, as he did, but I definitely would not give up on him. Too much upside with raw athletic ability. But I dont think comparing Martin to him is apples to apples, is all I am saying.

Well said, BAR.
Much of the praise for Martin come straight from Dan Hurley himself.
When he says, "NBA upside", he's had enough NBA players at St. Benedict's at
Martin's age to tell.
Now, with no specific names mentioned, i was told over the weekend, that
staff is evaluating who they feel fits their needs, and are in good shape with filling the two remaining slots.

Isaiah Lewis plays for the same school as Er.
I wonder if they're looking at Lewis and using Er as a smoke screen?
Lewis is the bigger talent, warts and all.

Like Keane? Like Wilson? Both 100% locks, according to the same source.
With the talent laden 2014 class, I'd rather see then not use one on a marginal
player like Er.
If we even have a 20% shot at Jared Terrel next fall, and potentially the BEST backcourt ever at URI
with EC Matthews, I'd take the chance and leave a scholarship open.

Rod: Coaches don't like to leave scholarships open. You don't know what will happen in the course of a season. And it's hard to fill your last two scholarships. Williams balked at coming to URI because he didn't want to come off the bench to back up Munford. So Hurley and Preston like this kid, and he's willing to come even though he knows there's not a ton of minutes available. You hope in a couple of years he's a player.

I doubt anyone here has seen this kid play. I'll trust Dan. If this kid pans out, we possibly have a starting backcourt of 6'4" and 6'7" in a couple of years. He's what we've been looking for....a shooter. We'll find out soon enough if this kid can contribute here.

If he can shoot it, a 6'7" guy on the wing will be able to get his shot off. I'm going to say it's a big upside play without having seen him to this point.

If he can come in and knock down a few threes off the bench then I think there is a real need for that on this team. Not everybody is going to be a star.

He's 6-7, shoots 44% from 3 and was the leading scorer on a loaded prep school team yet there's nothing on him. Makes me wonder if there were eligibility concerns, 8 games in Turkey for who?

That Providence school is not PCD, it is a school in Florida that would beat PCD by 100 points.

Aquille Carr went to Arlington Country Day for 4 days.

He's listed as a small forward.
Looks like a Baron type spring recruit.
Those 8 games he played in Turkey,
were they in a professional league?
I thought they were looking for a successor to Munford?
That means they'll have to use their only 2014 scholarship on a shooting guard.
