You can think that all you want but you are wrong.
Not the case according to his coach.
R83, where are you getting this? Did his coach say something on line somewhere?
83 has very reliable sources. Trust him on this.

I'm sure he does, I'm not doubting that. I was just quoted if it was posted on social media or available to see somewhere.

Look in Abou’s personal thread 83 mentioned one of the reasons he left was his peers around him were telling him he wouldn’t get playing time here with the twins even though Abou was originally fine w the twins
What personal thread? It seems he deleted his tweet about committing here, I'm not sure if that's what you mean. He should be listening to this staff with regards to playing time, not his peers. I'm sure his peers think they're saying things that are in his best interests, but that might not be the case.

Directly from his coach that wasn’t public.

I think the twins will apply for a waiver - and have a shot to get it. This is why we do need to find a grad transfer Big as a backup plan, but it will be tough to get a good one that will want to be a backup plan.

I don’t expect the rule to be effective this summer because there will be 1000 kids in the portal the next day and with limited recruiting calendar it would be messy.

The twins have no shot at a waiver. Go read the Transfer Rules.

I agree. They aren’t getting waiver. What would be different about any transfers we have had in the past or any of the 300 or 400 players in the transfer portal? They have nothing to file a waiver about. Only shot is if rule goes into effect right away.

The have less of a case than other transfers. Others enrolled at URI in January. Others were forced off their team or out of their school.
I believe the Mitchells even took courses at Maryland this semester. They need to do thst because of NLOI contract requirement.

You have to think he is trying to either take Mitchell and parlay into a head coaching job somewhere else or take over as head coach of Umass. I wouldn’t want to trust this guy on my staff as a head coach.

Quite a buzz created earlier today when Purdue’s Matt Haarms entered the portal: grad transfer. This was unexpected. He stated he’s heard from 25 schools already and expects to hear from more. Mostly P5 schools, including Kentucky, Louisville and Arizona. A few non P5 schools, but not Rhody. From a personal standpoint, I would like Rhody to make a play if for no other reason that he’s a dead ringer for the artist Morrissey.

I think they will apply and have a story to tell. Unlike GTown, I think Maryland plays ball because they don’t want their mom blowing them up on social media. Not saying they get a waiver, but plenty of players seem to get one each year that we think shouldn’t, so why not try.

They stayed enrolled at Maryland 2nd semester. They weren't kicked out.

That to me gives them zero chance of getting a waiver.

At first, that reasoning sounds backwards "they didn't get kicked out of school, so we are sorry, they can't be eligible to play this semester".

Time for URI to focus on the 145 Grad Transfers and JUCO. A grad transfer balances out the classes a little with only two Seniors. At most Cox will take one more Fr.

Grad Transfers: Evan Cole, Quan Jackson, Devin Gage
Sit-out Transfers: David DeJulius, Isaiah Wilkins

Haven't seen us mentioned with any available JUCOs.

I would assume there are others besides who's on that list.

When it comes to transfers the staff is verrrryyyy stealthy...…

Would not be surprised one bit if we get a commit out of the blue.

Interesting to read that the school you are leaving has to give you a release to get immediate eligibility

I was thinking more along the lines of, it would break tradition not to do so, but you both make solid points too.

And by the way, we are the good guy school, I wasn't being sarcastic about that. We turn the other cheek here.

It doesn't seem to be hurting Georgetown for their actions involving Walker, causing him to lose a semester of eligibility.

Wonder if Brandon Murray is aware of what they did?

This rule probably improves the bottom line for the NCAA. As long as they are changing rules do schools really need 13 scholarship players? I recall the NBA having 12 men rosters back in the day.

We in particular need a 13 man limit.

With all the comings and goings, when have we had a full roster?

We end up not filling the 13th spot....and then we lose more to eligibility issues.....

12...11....10....

Gotta be a big guy, but I'm thinking we have to wait for the transfer rule to pass. If it doesn't pass we want the best one possible for sure. If we get that guy now, what does that mean for the Twins, Harris, Toppin and Walker?

Personally I think we have enough right now. The Twins, Harris, Walker and then Toppin being able to play at the four. If we bring in a quality big I feel like one of those guys leaves, probably Walker, but would a real quality big want to just have Walkers minutes? Would he want to split time with the Twins, Harris trio?

I think we need to hold a ship.

We are okay for right now.

I think the rule will pass.

Handling over 1,000 transfers after next season will be crazy.
