so disappointing . And I was looking forward to you taking up the one roster spot with your post grad eligibility . Maybe they can
use me or 72 to shoot technical fts.

Anyone know what happened to Tyrese Martin? It looks like he had surgery on his left knee today? (Source: his Instagram story)

He had some issues with that knee last season.

Question is, why did they wait so long to have whatever needed to be done?

It looks like outpatient arthroscopic surgery. Six week recovery time. He should be back by September 1.

Could be, let's hope it is just a spur removal or a procedure to clean up patella chondromalacia.
Those are not a big deal.

I had a piece of my kneecap replaced, too (both of 'em, plus some other stuff)... I think they sawed off the back of those kneecaps and put a nice plastic disk on there. Thing slides great on the metal now. Huge upgrade.

Rothstein tweeted the following earlier today. No poaching by the AAC: good news for the A10.

“ Mike Aresco told reporters at American Conference Media Day in Newport that the league has no plans to expand following UConn's departure. Will stay at 11.”

Would have to think that may be the precursor to the conference announcing they will also go to 20 conference games.

Football drives the bus in the AAC so dropping Connecticut was addition by Subtraction. UCONN was ranked #126 out of 130 teams for 2019 by Athlon Soorts after finishing only (1-11) last season. Starting QB graduated and next QB up transferred.
Football Conference Quality with a step up.

Did anyone see the Instagram video of Anton Walker at the Ryan Center putting on some dance moves with another player shooting around. The other player had a left handed jump shoot that looked really good. Anyone know who that might be!

I thought it was Tate as well at first look but changed my mind when I saw he was shooting left handed.

Sounds like something related to a girl.

It was Dana in the video shooting, I think when u turn the camera around for a selfie it reverses things so it made him look like he was lefty.

I wonder if Sutton is scouting/recruiting international players. This looks like a youth camp but if he was in Spain he should connect with intermediaries.

I guess the sponsors didn't look at URI's 3-point shooting percentage!

How about Kenny Green? I do know the DBO can’t work with the player on the court (it would be a 4th coach).
UConn had that problem with Kevin Freeman. He use to sit in the stands at practice.

Included in job description:
Participate in, where allowable by NCAA rules/regulations, team practice activities (e.g., run practice clock, perform managerial functions, etc.).

It could give Kenny a start towards coaching.

If Jerrell Coleman gets bumped up (like they did with TJ) I would love to see Will Leviton in the player development position. There is no questioning his work ethic and the way he represents Rhode Island!

I think the DBO needs to be someone on the path to become an Ast Coach. I don’t see Jerrell as an Ast Coach. He also only has 1 yr experience. It’s a great spot for former D1 players. It has worked well for Ty, Eric and TJ.

I think there’s value in bringing in someone who has some different experiences or time with another program, and I have no idea what his aspirations are in basketball. But, I wouldn’t overlook or discount what Jerrell has done with the program in his six years. He also played at high level programs in high school.

I wonder which conference will get the next one.
Looks like Pipkins (knee injury) and McDermott will not be making the trip.
Reeves was not likely going but will now go because of those injured players.

You realize they have already been played three games completing the round robin 2-1 and qualified for the medal round. They had 15 players at PC and had to cut the roster to 12 for the games. There were two injuries and one other player left the team.
