No love for Kenny Green?
As for Holton, I agree with KB. Just a problem child.
Didn't we hear that he didn't get along with teammates and
got into a fight with someone?

That sounds familiar. I seem to remember a story about him having to be moved to a different dorm/room because of some problems.

If I'm not mistaken, (and I very well may be) NBA rosters have not yet been finalized and they have until Monday to do so. I think this move is just to ensure they can assign Richmond to their D-League affiliate Rio Grande Valley.

Ahhhh, that very well may be true, and would make alot more sense. A quick look at their roster page shows 20 players, so I think you are probably right.

You are correct, although Richmond seems pretty well-suited to the experiment they have going on down there: http://grantland.com/features/nba-dleag ... asketball/

He was assigned to the D-League today. On that team he's going to be a perfect fit.
He was a better pure shooter than Jimmy but couldn't create his shot on his own like Jimmy and I don't think I saw him play defense once.
Good kid though.

not even close...his stroke was something no coach would ever teach. Jimmy had a stroke out of a book about shooting fundamentals.

Not even close is just being a homer. No coach would ever teach? Go look at some video. You couldn't possibly look at it and find a big flaw. Both have great strokes. Jimmy was a better shooter in that he could get it off in tighter spots (and off the bounce or off a screen) and made a higher %. But, if we are talking form, Richmond has near perfect form, too. Always squared up, elevated, and not a lot of moving parts. Very repeatable.

Not talking about who is a better player or shooter. Just form. Ray Allen is the gold standard of form for a good shooter. Go to the 37 second mark of this clip. It's really very similar.

Jimmy is the one Baron I don't want to put "behind us."

The clip of Richmond at the 37-second mark his form only looks so good because its from the side angle and you can't see his elbows splayed out. His form is more Reggie Miller (and there will only ever be one like him) than Ray Allen.

I don't even think about Jim Baron when I think about Jimmy's shooting. He was a flat out great shooter. He was far more accurate than Richmond, and I liked Richmond. Akeem was way too inconsistent for me unfortunately. Jimmy had far better deep range than Richmond and as good or better than anyone I've ever seen in college. You would think some NBA team would find a way to take advantage of his shooting skill. I am sure The Seventy Sixers could use someone with Jimmy's shooting ability at least as an instant offense injection. and there are probably other teams there without the imagination to give him an extended look.

I don't doubt that Jimmy could play in the NBADL if he preferred it to overseas, and possibly some team when they needed random guard help would bring him up on a 10-day contract for a taste.

I remember there was an interview with him a while back (last year? year before?), but I can't remember if anyone asked him about the NBADL

Jimmy Baron improved his shooting from his freshman to his sophomore. Richmond got worse. Also Richmond was terrible in the clutch. Who can forget Richmond's terrible performance against UNC on the MSG big stage in the NIT semis!

Well, since the subject of shooters in college ball is on the table......
Just for comparison sake, think about these stats.
Imagine a guy who had every team gearing their entire defense on him.
His 3 point averages were:
40.5, 48.6, 49.0, 44.9. while averaging 58.7% from 2 point range.
Those were Doug McDermott's stats. His range is unlimited.
In today's NBA, Steph Curry is phenominal.

I played with both of them, Jimmy is a much better shooter and has much better form. Keem kind of uses his left hand when he shoots, he has a strange shot. Not as ugly as mine though

yes GBG not even close, as someone who has seen neither play in person it is hard for you to have an opinion but that doesn't stop you. Akeem had a stroke no coach would teach. It was unorthodox to say the least, which is why he could hit 5 in a row and then brick three that dont hit rim. Nothing to do with a homer, since they both played for us not sure what that comment even means.

back to the topic of former players....saw some stuff from Bob Huggins today that Holton will start this year and is seen as a stretch 4, and even getting some time at the 3. I know his outside shooting used to drive some posters here crazy, but looks like Huggins has furthered development of his perimeter game and will encourage him to step out for WVU this year.

Kid was the epitome of a scumbag and video taping/sexual assault stuff just scratched the surface. Will not shock me when he's suspended by mid-February ala Joe Mizzoula. Kind of a shame to waste all that talent. #HuggyBearPlayers

In addition to the videotaping incident in a URI dorm, he was also found during that investigation by police to be in possession of a stolen laptop. The laptop had been stolen from a URI student from a campus lounge. Previous to his Kingston issues, he had gotten into trouble with the law in Florida and was on probation. He then failed to meet the terms of that probation.

No one is disputing his other transgressions that have been discussed here numerous times. As I said the larger point was noted. I was just referring to the term sexual assault.
