Ishmael Leggett avg 16.1 ppg last season.
Charles Pride avg 17.7 ppg and 14.6 ppg the past two seasons.
That's the kind of production you want out of your starting 2 guard.
Zek Montgomery, 8.1 ppg last year, is nice, sounds like what you would expect out of your 3/wing spot or a solid 6th man. A defensive specialist who can score. Is not going to fill the hole left by Leggett's points.

Based on the timing of the recent commitment, I do not like our chances with Pride. I hope I'm wrong.
I respect your opinion with your basketball knowledge. I also agree with alot of the messages you right on this forum.
I see zek montgomery more as a wing (3) and Pride more as a 2 guard. I think House and Pride are more similar than Zek and pride.
I am still confident/ optimistic in pride coming to URI
Thanks, and ya I agree they are different players I'm just worried about the timing. Right after a zoom meeting with the staff, someone else commits. Obviously, we all would love to take on Pride, and I hope he still comes.

I don't think anyone is saying they don't want Pride. But I think House is more of the replacement for Ish. Pride would be a great addition as well.

I'll miss Leggett but Pride would be a good addition.

Yeah Zek is more of a Malik type. Not quite as rugged, but I'm not seeing where he is taking Pride's spot.
Pride really plays a lot like Leggett. House does too, but we just played with Carey and Leggett who were very similar as well.
We can easily have lineups with a PG, House, Pride, Zek/Weston and a Center.
If Weston gets stuck playing the 4 again, I don't think he will stick around. I heard he and people close to him were unhappy that he was playing out of position, and he wants to play as a 2/3 this year. But yes I'm all for playing our best players, and if that means we have to go a little smaller, I'm fine with it.

He should never play the 4 again. Totally unfair and inefficient for him and the team.

Well we should be able to accommodate that pretty easily then. I don't want him playing the 4 either. I think I was just speaking on the kind of minutes that could be available. Plenty of minutes 1 through 3 and even 4 if necessary.

PC is on him now? Eff them.
They're in on Abou as well. Archie struggled last offseason to land transfers like this because he was coming in late to the party. Same deal for English now.

without causing a ruckus, because I know it might be an unpopular sentiment, remember when we first got House and I said Bray v2.0?
I'm pretty sure that's what they have in mind for House: they are going to use him at PG, part of the time. With an actual PG on the floor with him some of the time like they did with Bray.
Which means Pride would be Ish. I still think the intensity to get this kid is still there, it's just a lot of late comers trying to get in on him at the 11th hour.
Hopefully that is the case, Stevey, versus him being tempted with money and a deep NCAAT run next March.
I get the sense the PC clan is feeling angry and jilted and will do anything to make a deep run next season so they can rub it in Cooley’s face and do a tap dance on his head. Hell hath no fury like a friar scorned thing going on, I think. I have no strong evidence of that; just a sense I am picking up.

I feel like we still have a good shot at getting Pride.
Well it depends on what is more important to him.
Rhody or Loyola he will get much more playing time and starter minutes.
At Creighton, PC, or Xavier he will probably come off the bench as a role player.
But he will be on team with NCAAT potential.
Especially at Creighton, that can easily be national contenders, looking at their current roster.

Also wouldn’t shock me if some other low end P5 school comes out of nowhere and scoops him up
Crossing my fingers on him coming here but with Always visiting here today idk, both Loyola and us have players in his position but can obviously can outplay all of them
