10 sacks, negative 7 yards rushing for Bryant for the game.
502 to 264 yards in total offense.
And the return yards were big too.

They did switch kickers after the first PAT miss.
The last one was blocked, so it will be interesting to see who does what this week.
Leonard, the kid from Jamestown who transferred from ND by way of Avon, has been kicking off.
He made 3, while the freshman DeBolt from Bridgton, made 5 last week but hit the upright on the only FG attempt of the season.
We used to play Bridgton back many years ago when there was a JV team, fwiw.

Sorry for the digression, but those are some pretty freaking impressive stats.

The other thing they have to clean up going forward is penalties.
11 is too many.

Can’t wait for the opener!!!

Yes, the pre snap penalties, plus the dead ball personal foul, prevented Rhody from opening up a bigger lead at halftime. This was somewhat cleaned up in the second half. The special teams coverage also improved in the second half, after allowing a couple of decent Bryant kickoff returns early.

The 10 Sacks smashed the all time URI Record. Previous record was 7 sacks the team accomplished 3 times. Seriously pummeled the Bryant offensive line. -7 yards rushing is unheard of.

Nice win for URI and the defensive effort was terrific, but URI has to play better to justify its national ranking. The kicking game needs improvement as well as more consistency on specials teams. I watched the replay of game and the lack of sharpness on both teams was why this game took over 3 1/2 hours to play. Delaware will be a challenge.

That gets to the heart of what Fleming said after the game. This was a win, but it doesn't feel like a sweet one and there's plenty of work to improve. That said, it says a lot about this team that they could go on the road and handle a team by two touchdowns that went into overtime against an FBS school the week before
Take down the Robert Carothers banner and fix the concession stand lines

We were sloppy with 2 big errors - the personal foul on the opening drive that killed momentum and the INT at end of first half when we could have put them away. Even with that we were never really threatened against a solid team. That bodes well. To be expected after a big opening CAA win and Delaware coming for home opener that the middle game was the proverbial trap. Past Rhody teams would have managed to mess that up.
