Wish I could make it tomorrow... (well only a little since I'll be in Miami):
This is the first season that I have not attended at least one game in person since before I went to college. Living over an hour away plus having a toddler and a 5 month old will do that. Next year I hope to take my toddler to her first Rhody game!
I want one of those jerseys!

I have come to enjoy Back 40 in NK as a pre and post game spot for this year and last. It's on the way for me from up north in the state, and has good food and a solid beer selection (if that's your thing). In fact, will be there on Sat. after a swing by Proclamation and Tilted Barn.
++> Sponsor Plug...Twisted Pizza in Exeter is even closer to the RC and has a decent beer selection usually, too.
Last time I was there, um... every Friday, they had one each from Shaidzon, Whalers, Proclamation, plus a few others others on tap.

I’ve never seen a giveaway at any sports thing - college or pro - that didn’t have a corporate sponsor attached to it. Need the sponsorship to defray the cost, only fair that they get their name on it. I’m not huge on wearing stuff that has corporate logos on it, tbh, but I totally get it. I’m also appreciative of those sponsors for stepping up and allowing URI a to do the giveaways - as much as the free gear isn’t in my sartorial wheelhouse, a lot of fans rock that stuff and it’s good PR for URI when they do.

Right, but the post you quoted seemed like a complaint - “looks cool but would be better if it didn’t have the sponsor logo on it.” Which is true, but also not really taking into account the fact that there would be no giveaway without it and every giveaway is subject to the same rules.

I hope to finally see an A-10 win this season today. While this will be my 10th URI game this year, the only league games I attended were GMU, Dayton, and Davidson. All of them were very ugly losses. Would be nice to see the team close out the season strong today with a win and build some momentum, enthusiasm, and hope for next year.

I’ve always wondered why the university doesn’t do more with different types of gear. Put that jersey (minus sponsor) in the ram zone and it will sell. I think they leave a lot of money on the table with the lack of merch and the space they have to sell it. Put a few kiosks up in the concourse- they do it for the PC game.
Still can't believe it's the last game of the season already. Been a frustrating up and down year but really hoping we continue to close on a high note. Oh and Will scores 10 somehow.

That's ok.. all ready got email looking for renewal for next year. Looks like same price.. hopefully a couple of more games.. end it strong guys
If URI, with students off campus on break, somehow manages to get a crowd of 6,313 or better today, it will be the third best attendance average in the 17 years of the Ryan Center. Through the first 13 games, URI has attracted 74,215 for an average of 5,709. Worth noting the the top nine seasons of attendance before this year were all for teams that made the postseason (NCAA or NIT).

I would say more home games is basically a given. URI will probably play 31 games next (had just 30 this season) and get two home games as part of the Jamaica Tourney (had no tourney home games this season). The OOC home schedule for next year will also be more attractive with PC, Alabama, and Western Kentucky on the slate.
I want URI to win today so we can feel we finished the season strong instead of struggling to the finish line. The way we are playing now shows the importance of having an outside scoring threat. Good teams have more than one to protect against an injury or an off night by one. Basketball teams must be multidimensional to win competitive games. URI was not for three quarters of the season. Since we have no key starters being seniors, we should not have a collapse as we have had on some disastrous senior days. Still, containing Holloway while avoiding foul trouble will be a challenge. I'm off to the game. GO RHODY!
Best half of the year. We are dominating a team that beat us earlier this year. Team is playing with tremendous confidence. Preston Is scoring, we're shooting lights out and have 8 steals

UMass stinks. They stunk when they beat us earlier in this season, and now they’ve completely given up. But regardless, you still have to play well to put up 50+ points in a half. More to the point, though, it looked to me like we’d given up like UMass has just a few weeks ago. This team scraping itself off the pavement when some of its biggest supporters had left them for dead is one of the low-key best things I’ve experienced as a sports fan. It won’t result in a historical season and looking back on it, it will look like a ho-hum mediocre year on the whole, but hopefully it springboards us into a special year next year and people will remember this stretch. Pretty cool stuff.
