In today’s 77-71 loss to LaSalle, Dale started, played 33 minutes and had her first career double double. Dale had 10 rebounds, 13 points, 5-5 FTs, 4 assists, 4 steals, 2 blocks and 5 TOs.
Unusual in that LaSalle had 52 of their 77 points from their bench. No starter hit double figure points.

Time to look forward, I agree with previous poster, should take advantage of our size more, guard play is selfish and erratic and way way too many turnovers and forced shots. Look for the foreign kid not to come back and the kid having a great offensive year to parlay that into a transfer to greener pastures. This is typical in the women’s game and par for the course. Just my gut feeling Coach has to find a way to make this team play unselfishly and as a team, the talent is there but if the kids aren’t willing or able to play team game then jettison them. When a kid accepts losing as long as she’s getting her points , that’s a problem that is a recipe for disaster. More emphasis on defense and more commitment to the TEAM! Defense will keep you in games and wins championships, offense is inconsistent and erratic half the time with women. Not working with the current lineup is a given, time to change things up.

Down 60-57 at St Bonaventure
Nicole Jorgensen scores twice to make it 61-60 URI with 12 seconds to go and a media time out
Jorgensen with a monster game of 21 points and 14 rebounds
So we put in Jalissa Ross who has 3 rebounds and zero points for Jorgensen
Ross blocks a shot but Bonnie’s get the deflection and score at the buzzer
Sorry
You want Ross in put her in but NOT for the best player on the floor tonight
We lose 62-61 in a crushing defeat. Long trip home.

Erin Jones needs in the starting line up after tonight’s performance of 10 points, 6 rebounds on 4-6 FG and 2-4 on threes.

When is the administration going to do something poor poor coaching 1.1 left in the clock 2 6’5 #2and #5 in a10 blocked shots 6’e sitting on bench yet jaylissa ross in why? Contributes nothing when can we get a new coach? Why is this allowed 9 straight losses because of coaching she pulled jones leading scorer last game for Ross why? Time to go let’s hope Thor sees what’s going on! Who do we call?????

Hold on....Ross did block the shot, so it was obviously good that she was in. But they need to come up with the rebound on the block.

Ross blocked shot 12 seconds. 1.1 left on clock 2 6’5 centers and 1 6’3 forward sitting on bench you don’t think they could have had a better chance blocking that shot than 4 guards and Ross Bad Bad coaching

It’s fair to say she shouldn’t have replaced the best player. But not fair to say Ross shouldn’t have come in as she did make the play. But no one secured the rebound after the block.

Game wasn’t lost in last second it was lost the first 10min of the game just as the season was lost when they brought coach back. This program is a joke on and off the court. Great window dressing but a shxt show behind the scenes.
They finally get the ball to big girl and and at least it wasn’t a blowout as Bonnie’s are no great shakes eirher. Put another 20 plus loss season on the boards. They would be better off bringing in a good high school coach that’s hungry. Pitiful coaching, very undisciplined team.

Another utterly pitiful coaching job and the usual coaches pets allowed to make mistake after mistake , turnover after turnover and they stay in. This borders on pathetic now! Jorgensen gave Rhodey the big lead and was a dominant force in the first quarter, then she never gets the ball again!!! The guards start doing the one on one show and either turn it over or put up clankers! What’s wrong with that picture! Can’t wait for this nightmare to end. Let’s see how stupid the AD’s will be.

2nd Point , St. Joes not even that good! Average players who play hard all 40 minutes as a team with no prima donnas and they get the most out of what they have. We have enormous talent on the court and on the bench even and are headed for another 20 plus loss season! Wake up rhody!

I agree 100% selfish guard play and no coaching again I ask why will the administrators do nothing? 1st quarter up 15 selfish guard/pet play and absent coaching led us to 10th straight loss why is nothing being done?

We were up 13 at one point in the first quarter, and were up 18-8 at the end of it, but still lost 55-48. Jorgensen had 13 of our first 15 and ended with 21. We shot 18 of 54 and just 2-15 from 3 (sound familiar?). We turned the ball over two more times than St. Joe's (21-19). St. Joe's is now 7-7 in the conference and we are 2-12

I said last game it made no sense to take Jorgensen out after age had basically won the game for URI having scored the last 8 points to give us a 1 point lead. Amazingly she takes Jorgensen out with 12 seconds to go. 1.2 seconds to go they inbound down low for a layup.
Best player, best rebounder on our team and you put her on the bench. Game over. Yet I got questioned about my comment here. Like the HC knew better than me. Please. If you don’t follow the team or go to games you literally have no idea. Listen to those who are speaking.

Jorgensen was amazing yesterday in the 1st quarter and 1st half. Never should have lost this game and many others but this one was particularly devastating.

LaForce basically was hired to help bring in a recruit.

Didn't happen....and now she's been given way too long to improve the program.

Hmmm...does that sound a little familiar? Although Cox is still in his 1st year.....

And yes we all fell for it like a bunch of lemmings.

Yesterday’s game was lost because of selfish guard play They fed the post the 1st half and it was working no one could cover the post all seemed to be working well actually playing some good D until the guards/pets to over with selfish play ball hogs and complaining the entire game as Laforce just watched no consequences and no discipline this team and program are a joke starting with the AD

Watching in stands you can see the players on the court and on the bench look miserable! Body language is poor. Attitudes especially guards is poor! Even the assistant coaches look frustrated and defeated! She inherited previous coaches players and was about .500 her first year. It’s been 20 loss utter disaster with numerous off court problems the next four! Are the AD’s brain dead or do they just don’t care? She really didn’t shake up the world at previous school either as her teams were below to average. This team actually has more talent that half the A10 and she has done nothing with it and is outcoached every game! Time to put this wounded animal out of its misery! Making the school look really bad! This shxt show needs to be cancelled and quick!

We're now at the point where both basketball programs are sucking pond water....just as football seems to be on the rebound.

The women's program here has always been an afterthought unfortunately.

Thorr should be held accountable yes, but I doubt anybody cares.

Bring back the guy you let go 10 years ago,Tom Garrick,he loves uri enough he might even accept.Just like police chiefs you somtimes don't have to do world wide searches for this Fit.

I love Tom Garrick for what he's done for the University, but he went 56-112 as head coach. It appears his best season in conference was 6-10 and it pretty much went downhill from that season on. Why would he be more successful this time? Should we tolerate that record just because he was a great player for us?

What do you think happened. I commented at the time that it was odd (can’t say unusual) that nothing was announced when she missed the first 2 of 3 games.

What is the coach's contract status? Is it up after this year or next?

If so, it's time to go. Again, URI doesn't fire coaches with several years left on their contracts no matter how bad they are.

"Her contract is up after this season or most likely next. It was originally a five year deal with an option year to be added based on a performance review after the 2014-15 season"

of course there is no mention of Jorgensen for Player of the Week. She didn't win that award last week. She has not won that award since January 7. She is also the first player listed on both the game preview on GoRhody.com and on the team's game notes. She is in fact the only player mentioned on the front page of those notes.

That was a game that both teams were trying very hard to lose! Even a dog gets a bone once in awhile. Same old same old really, guards tried real hard to give the gift back to Davidson who probably though they were going to win easy with her not around. URI team is not bad, they have talent, they are just mismanaged on the court and off. The bigger question is if you bring the coach back it will be a repeat of the last 4 years and when do you cut the cancer out? Why go thru another year of misery and losing when you’re going to fire her anyway after next year. Give a chance to the next coach to right this sinking ship before it’s sitting at the bottom of the Atlantic! Oh we’re already there.

It's fairly obvious the administration does not care about women's basketball. They field a team because it's required. That's it.

The sad part of this is that they do have talent and I think if properly coached and some discipline they could be a really good team I still stand by my statement that they are running a dribble drive and do not have the personnel very very selfish guard play

The key to winning is to feed Jorgensen. She is one of the best big men in the conference. Must leverage her skills to the max to have a chance to win.
Duquesne beat URI 75-58 back on Feb 17. Ross, Jorgensen, Colome, Moffitt and Vargas started. Jorgensen had 7 rebounds and 9 points - she needs double those numbers for us to win imho
Jones should start - can't have her off the bench as she is clearly a capable starter
Dale should start and focus on rebounding, limiting turnovers.
Duquesne had won 5 straight games - will not be easy to win

Plays hard and great ball movement! Rhody looks listless, body language panthetic, can’t even get up and down the floor, one on one bs, no defense whatsoever ! And they paying these coaches for this? URI getting robbed! An utterly pathetic performance! Colome and Co. looking to get away quick for fun in the sun spring break !

I agree! Where was Ross, Oberg? Team was defeated before they hit the floor Jorgensen mortchuk in together a first but no high low does Laforce know how to coach? Jorgensen 4 in elbow gash ruptured bursar first 20 min of game and still played hard colome/pet did nothing find it hard to believe she is the best player on team Who and when do they make the call for new coach?

Absolutely no progress with this coach the last 4 years! It will be worse next year if they are stupid enough to bring her back! Give us some hope and bring somebody in to save this dismal failure of a program. Another sad ending to an awful season!
