Defensive rebounding is about position. Offensive rebounding is about anticipation. Both are about effort.

Re: Hare, Jordan Hare
I've seen him improve a lot in this area even over 7 games. He doesn't do it all the time, but I saw great positioning a few times against mason.Billyboy78 wrote:Defensive rebounding is about position. Offensive rebounding is about anticipation. Both are about effort.
If you say you’re a Rhody fan, I know you are my brother. For you have suffered as I have suffered.

Re: Hare, Jordan Hare
agree with you dude. I cant stand when a little guy gets underneath me a forces me out.The Dude wrote:I agree that Hare needs more muscle and needs to further develop his skills. His lack of size may be a contributing factor as to why people can move him towards the basket when they are posting up down low (in preparation for a shot), but I disagree with the notion that his weight is/should be a contributing factor as to why he gets out rebounded by other big men.
The reason I make this argument is because many big men try too much to use their upper body as leverage to move or push another person. In fact a persons real leverage and center of gravity is in the hips and waist region. Quite frankly, if you put your a$$ in to it, you can move almost any one off the block down low. I'm 6'1" and my buddy is 6'10". I could out rebound him because I was able to get lower than him when trying to move him away from the basket. Regardless of my experiences, the the principle still holds true. It's physics.
In my opinion, Hare just needs to be taught to use his lower body to box out and move people away from the basket.

Wow! I really do anything but Mexican. Hate cumin.
I make a great chicken Marsala. Most people like my Italian stuff.
Steak au Poivre. Coqulilles St. Jacque. Fried chicken.
Anything fattening.
Pretty eclectic.
I like to have random people over for dinner, especially on holidays.
My daughter's friends, Mormon Missionaries, co-workers, freinds, ex wives, soldiers, whatever, anyone with no place to go.
I've had 10th Mountain Division guys bunk here, on leave.
Always room for others. Nobody leaves hungry.

I have a great fried chicken recipe from my grandmother(grew up in ALA) that involves frying in a combo of crisco and bacon fat. fantastic. Not big on my own mexican either; too many great, cheap places in the area.

My mother used to fry chicken in lard, so it's like the same idea. Outstanding crunch and flavor.
I always soak chicken in milk for a few hours, to soften it and take some of the gaminess out of it.

Re: Hare, Jordan Hare
I'm about to suggest as a nickname for Jordan Hare "FLUSH". It seemed to me that all his points today were flushed down the hole. He couldn't make a shot that wasn't a dunk.
Flush committed no fouls in the first half. There has been a concern about him fouling too much and foolishly. But the first half he showed very little aggression. In the second half, he committed too reach fouls early on players driving past him. Those are the type of fouls he has to avoid committing.
He is a talent and a work in progress.

Of course, Hare is a work in progress. The key is you can see the progress with every game. He block shots, rebounds and fills the lane. He can dunk but he can't shoot. Nevertheless, he's got good hands and he'll learn how to use them.

Re: Hare, Jordan Hare
seems like he has great hands, sees the court and can pass and has excellent length and athleticism
needs to get much stronger, work on his footwork and get a face up game from 10 feet in and he will be a player!

Re: Hare, Jordan Hare
He seems to anticipate where the ball is going very well. He is only an A+ relative to the first year big men that URI has recruited for the past decade. He plays above the rim. Shows little with his back to the basket. You have to define what each letter means before I can grade him. But, he is no A+. However, he is more than I expected.

Re: Hare, Jordan Hare
Compare what our comments were about Jordan about a month ago to what our comments are now. He has only been a college basketball player for a couple of months and has made great strides already. Yes, he has a lot of areas he needs to work on, including his body, but I feel great about his future here now.

Maybe?
Jordan "The Bear" Hare - Don't poke the bear.
Haha. I couldn't come up with much.
