Serious question: are watching the game? We got out to a 9-4 lead (kicked in the teeth?), and we are attacking the zone in the right way by reversing the ball and sending guys through the middle and running the baseline. Just chill.

Being down 4-0 isnt exactly kicked in the teeth in my opinion...
you're missing the point - we let teams inferior team dictate the pace of the game instead of taking it to them. We are suppose to be the better more athletic team, lets establish that from the opening tab.

Gil has the widest schism between his good plays and bad plays. Sometimes he does things that make him look like a legitimately skilled basketball player, and sometimes he just looks useless.

The more teams play zone against us the tougher and closer these conference games are going to be and most often if we're gonna win it aint gonna be pretty.

Unfortunately there is no reason for anyone to play anything other than zone against us, so we are going to need to figure out a way to attack it.

Garrett

That should be our lineup until one of those guys collapses.

obvious why we are still recruiting point guards.. Garret has potential. Minnis is not very good.. Matthews is not a point guard..

Agree, TP.
I hate the way we're playing here.
Foirget Biruta when the other team is in a zone.
He's useless.
Why Reischel ever sees floor time is beyond me.

5 TOs by our PGs, our kryptonite. No dribble penetration and no paint touches. Agree we need TJ on the high post, Gil hasn't proven capable.

Unreal play where we have numbers on a fast break, but turn it over and Mason gets an and-1 the other way. Brutal.

Personally I've seen enough of Biruta to say --with evidence-- that he's way overrated on the floor. He's slow to the ball, he has terrible hands, is very soft around the rim and drops his head and doesn't recover from his mistakes. Just a realistic appraisal.

We definitely look toothless on offense, at least. Your comment was just puzzling because it came during our only good two minute stretch of the game.

well we only play man to man, so how much zone do you think we practice against.. All well and good to go small, but when you can't shoot you need to be able to get some 2nd chance points.. Not doing that with 4 guard offense.. transition needs to be the game and we are not efficient at that either..

OK, if we insist on taking all perimeter shots, and missing almost all of them, would it make sense to have an offensive rebounder in the game.....like Earl?

What exactly is Butler's role out there, every time he gets the ball on the wing he immediately fires it right back to the point like "oh shit no don't give it to me"

so here is Garrett and Minnis with zero assists between them and 5 turnovers between them

Here you have TJ with a great pass to Martin for the jam
TJ also with a fake pass then dish to EC for a layup
TJ with 3 assists to lead the team and 5 rebounds to lead the team and he is not in your lineup?

TJ may not be a point guard but he is the best we have

Not able to watch myself, but just caught the boxscore. Saw we've already taken 11 3 pointers, and zero FT's. I know we struggle against zones, but by those 2 stats in the boxscore, I'm guessing we're not getting the ball inside and settling for long jumpers? Dribble penetration in the zone, will lead to fouls. Settling for jumpers won't, but for those watching, is that the gist of what's going on?

EC 2 for 11
0 assists and 5 TOs at PG
Gil invisible
Again Hass and TJ are the only ones with consistency

BPR, nailed it on the head....ZERO dribble penetration from any of our guards. Terrell, EC and our PGs playing like a deer in headlights against the zone.

I know we are sucking as strongly as you can possibly suck, but I'm most puzzled at how we seem to be so unprepared to face any kind of zone that we know teams will play against us. EC looks like a freshman today on both ends of the floor. We need a point guard who can penetrate a zone and make things happen, its obvious at this point in the season we dont have that.

Has there ever been a game where a team doesn't shoot a free throw? I know we don't shoot them well, but......when every shot is a 20 foot shot, you're not going to get too many fouls against the opponent.
