Let's not start the Canisius-URI stuff.
They have a team with a lot of veteran players and a center that I wish we had.
Plus, they have a schedule that is very easy, especially OOC.
I'm sure they'll wind up with a better record than us this season.

I don't get the "young team" excuse - 3 of our 5 starters are seniors; then add Bigby to those who won't be here next year.
This team does have assets that gives me great hope for the future.
1. A cadre of quality ineligible players.
2. Some quality recruits.
3. No dead wood among the scholarship underclassmen.
4. And most important, a new culture of tenacity and smart basketball that I haven't seen at URI in a decade.
This is a "bridge" year for URI basketball that gives us a glimpse of what will be. It is only a young team in the context of being the early years of a promising URI basketball program. We'll have to get use to many new jersey numbers next season.
