Rod, we're all clueless about Hare's situation, again.
Just hope that if he does come back next year, he's all in with the program.
I'm sure Dan will do everything he can to make sure that happens.

Re: Post Season Tournaments
The Big Least is going to get their butts handed to them in the Dance this year.
I think the committee got it right, when they made the seedings for PC and X.
Creighton a 3? I doubt they make it out of the 2nd round.
Even Nova's a very shaky 2 seed, imo.
The one team out of the AAC that got the shaft was UConn. They should have been no worse than a 6, and maybe even a 5. Especially with Cincy getting a 4.
St. Louis a 5, and UMass a 6? I mean I love the A10 of course, but they are too high. They should have been a 7 and 8.

Re: Post Season Tournaments
For my money GW is the A10 team I think could play the longest. They dont have a ton of depth but they can score inside and out, VCUs pressure exposed their average ball handling skills, but they wont face anything like that in the tourney. I think A10 goes 2-4 in first round, 3-3 or better is a huge success.

but Ace, St Johns would run us off the floor. They are from the Big East, them losing must be a typo.ace wrote:Robert Morris likes the NIT- beat Kentucky last year, St. John's this year.

and in an old school NBA game, VMI beats Canisius 111 - 100. Yes you read that right, old ball coach and his squad gave up 59pts in the first half against VMI!!!!

Canisius was an 8.5 point favorite!
He paid $35k out of his own pocket to get skunked at home!

Re: Post Season Tournaments
Well, that was quick. I hope CFL got his money's worth. I wonder if his check cleared yet. He may be able to cancel it.
Of course, the excuses for St Johns have already started. They were just too disappointed not getting into the NCAA's that they didn't play well.
X looked good. Is it just me or does their coach look like a vibrator in a suit?
And then there were 3.

Well, now there are 2 things that need to happen.
St.Louis to beat NC State, and PC to lose to UNC.
I think they both happen.

Re: Post Season Tournaments
This is a big year for our league. We've got to justify the 6 bids.
The new -but -not- improved big east didn't seem to get the kind of respect from the selection committee that they hoped.

Re: Post Season Tournaments
Three postseason games in the books for the new Catholic Big East. Xavier bounced by double digits 74-59 in the NCAA play in game despite the fact that it was played one hour from its campus. The loss denied X the right to play an A-10 team in the tourney's first round. #1 NIT seed St. John's beaten at home by NEC power Robert Morris 89-78 before a crowd of just 1,027 at 5,602 seat Carneseca Arena. Georgetown was the league's lone winner last night winning an NIT home game 77-65 at its tiny (cap 2500) on campus McDonough Arena vs West Virginia.
The start of the postseason for the new Catholic Big East is looking a lot like the league's disappointing performance in the year one regular season.

I guess we're the only team that St. Johns can run off the floor.

Big question was FOX SPORTS on site to capture these highly attended NBE Post Season Contests?RF1 wrote:Three postseason games in the books for the new Catholic Big East. Now it's being said that the winner of Iowa and Tennessee has an easy path to make a deep run whoever wins. The winner faces umass. The A10 needs to represent. If they do A10 fans need to let the media hear it. And who is calling this playin game? Panty boy?

Re: Post Season Tournaments
Everyone is piling on the A10, saying that St.Louis and UMass are seeded too high.
About the only team to win a game, so they say, is VCU.
I think we'll go 3-3, possibly 4-2, first round. Do that, and we'll shut them up.
My picks to win are VCU [obviously], GW, Dayton, and maybe St. Louis. St. Louis needed the week off to rest, they were cooked. Dayton winning would be a nice upset.
UMass and St.Joes are up against it. Both can win, but I doubt it.
UMass just hasn't played well lately. UConn is better than a 7 seed.

Well, Cal Poly just got in the field of 64. 14-19 Cal Poly. I can hear Bilas whine already.
Here come the upsets. There will be at least a few the first 2 days.

if you want to see an unbelievable center turn on ESPN2 and watch UC Irvine's Mamadou Ndiaye. He's 7'6" 290 lbs and pretty mobile for his size. You can tell he is a raw talent but he's impressed me. Oh btw, he's only a freshman

You don't quite realize how big he is until the other teams "bigs" are next to him. It's like someone's big brother wandered onto the court of a middle school game.
