Did you notice Hurley talking to EC and Biggie right before the tip? Both had their warmups off already and I would be willing to bet Hurley was giving them the "just hang with me for a few minutes and you are right in there" talk.

I'm sure everyone has a pretty good idea of when they'll get into the game (if everything goes according to plan). I also noticed Butler with his warmup off up near the coaches. Was thinking he might get some burn at some point in this game. If he can shoot at all, I'd welcome it.

I agree with just about everything you said here, except I'm left wondering what the plan is?

kind of shocked DH is pulling a "Baron-esque" move by not doing the obvious, and shuffling the starting lineup. we are at our best with the 3 M's.

getting a little cute here with a 4 guard lineup, and Hassan at Center. dont think we are there yet.

My feeling on the first half is that they could have kept on the gas and blown this team away with about 7-8 minutes left in the half, but instead Dan decided to experiment with lineups a little. I'm ok with that. We're going to win this game comfortably anyways. This is as good of a time as any to mix and match and see what combinations work together and which ones don't.

The other thing is that we can survive an awful first five minutes against a bad team, but that is a habit we absolutely have to break. At least it didn't take a whole half this time, but we have to come out if the gates better.

EC is a stud.

Awesome moment with Lamar during the timeout.

I mean...am I going to write a book about how epically great we were today? No. But we're fine. Horrible first five minutes and the rest has been kind of blah, but nothing to have an aneurysm over. I don't get what your venom is all about. Seems like this was a perfectly workmanlike 6.5/10 win. I would save all that anger for a loss. You sound like the blind rage of a drunk man like Brady back in the day.

I'm going to have to slap you with a "Low Expectations" Yellow Card, TP.

This is by far the least talented team we have played all season. "Bad Offense" as you yourself put it, is inexcusable.

Until the George Mason game according to some on here. Although they are getting smoked by Iona today, so I'm not sure if the entire success of our season still rides on that one game or not anymore.

Hard to argue with that at this point. They SHOULD be way more talented, but arent showing it so far.

Ok but it isn't like we struggled with this team. We led the whole game, experimented with some funky lineups and won easily. It wasn't super pretty, but to make it sound like it was a disaster is weird to me. This game didn't move the needle for me one way or the other. My opinion of this team is no different than it was this morning. Still taking a wait-and-see attitude. Not going to melt down over a double digit win. I don't care how bad the other team is.

This would be the "bad" win, in that scenario. Metro State would be the "good" win, in comparison.

Metro State was a much better team on a less than neutral site for them, than this crapola.

It's a win, but it's sloppy.

And the coming out each half and sleep walking through the first five mins each time continues.

The bigs do not finish strong at all, even against poor competition. Brown also beat this team by 10, so the fact that game is at Brown this year, means it will be a dogfight based on this game.

Steve McDonald just now: "they are going to have to go back to the drawing board, Don, because there are not a lot of teams they could have beat tonight."

That's a quote from an impartial observer, TP. Steve McDonald is hardly a hater.

12 FT misses. It might not have mattered in this game but it will in a close A10 game.

That is more FT misses than I ever saw my dad miss in the hundreds of games he played in over a 30 year span (He still plays full court hoops from time to time at 73). Terrible. A team that is focused typically always makes their FTs.

only out rebounded them by 5 while they have been out rebounded by an average of 17 a game.

Luke just said that if the Bigs aren't going to do their job we may have to play smaller.

Totally agree with Steve Mc Donald. A good team would have killed UMASS Lowell today. Hope maybe some hangover from the trip had something to do with today's play. Right now Mathews is about the only guy playing well. He has been impressive. When he isn't in the game there is no offense.

On another topic it appears clear Butler is not going to play. Can he still be red shirted or is it too late?

So can we stop being fanboys now and admit there's a problem? Or should we just pretend a win is a win and struggling to beat the worst team in division I is "rust" even though we've played 10 games together against varied competition?
