I heard someone was here for a visit yesterday. Does anyone know who? I assume he will attend today’s game.

There was a 6’7ish white kid with red hair at the game as well. Wasn’t hard to spot him behind the bench. He’s a recruit but I don’t know his name. Anyone see him?

I believe so. Not 100%. I know he just transferred out of ND, so it would make sense since he’s local.

I read somewhere that he was prone to being homesick. So it makes sense for him to return to New England. He’s from Marlborough Mass.

All depends on whether or not Cox thinks he'll help this team.
We really don't need a pure center, just a bunch of good PF's will do lol.

He didn't do much at ND in his year+, but he was a pretty good prospect a couple of years ago.

BC was also recruiting him a couple of years ago, if he REALLY wants to be close to home. I don't know what their scholarship situation is right now, or if they're interested in Chris.

Does the ACC have an intra conference transfer rule that requires sitting out 2 seasons?

I still do not see confirmation as to whether he was at the game or not. I did not see him in 105 or 106.

KBers posted that Doherty was at the WKU game on Saturday. I believe DC and others confirmed it via their sources.ramster wrote: ↑4 years agoI still do not see confirmation as to whether he was at the game or not. I did not see him in 105 or 106.
Are talking about another game in the past? Are looking for a picture confirming it? I’m puzzled with why ur confused

Re: General Recruiting Discussion/Comments
I dont get why you wont take peoples word that have good sources in the program that he was at the game and rather argue that you did not see him. Both DC_RAMS and Rhody_83 confirmed it with sources he was there. That is all I need to know two separate individuals with different sources confirming it is enough for me especially given the connections they have to the program.ramster wrote: ↑4 years agoI still do not see confirmation as to whether he was at the game or not. I saw him at the game. He was behind the bench a few times. It was Chris Doherty. Family is close to the Carroll’s to boot.

Bingo, he moved down a few times to sit directly behind the bench to talk to the coaches before the game and after.

Asking for a friend.. is there a chance URI can get in on Maryland’s Mitchell twins???? Those guys were huge and athletic.
Looks like they are on the move.

I am surprised the better one isn’t seeing more playing time.
Have they announced they are leaving? It will be hard for a school to take them both as transfers.

Re: General Recruiting Discussion/Comments
Here is the answer to my question.
From the article:
The 6-foot-10 centers have been among Maryland's top post reserves in the frontcourt through the first twelve games, combining for more than 16 minutes per game. Makhi Mitchell (3.0 points per game, 3.3 rebounds), the more touted of the two as high school recruits, started two games and otherwise was often Maryland's first big man off the bench. He's struggled to adjust to the college game offensively, shooting 35.3 percent, but his absence will create a hole in Maryland's already thin frontcourt. Makhel Mitchell was playing a smaller role, averaging one point per game.

Re: General Recruiting Discussion/Comments
There is a program, not too far from UMD, that has found itself with a lot of openings recently and is coached by a legendary big man. That would be my guess where they end up.

Tough decision as young men, but they should probably split up to reach their individual potential. I wouldn’t touch G’Town right now even though they may have the room for both of them.

Are we likely to add a transfer during this semester break? If not would like to see us find a grad transfer big to help balance the classes out and add experience.

Re: General Recruiting Discussion/Comments
I would prefer a guard transfer. Anybody with some quality experience.
Doesn't have to be a world beater, just someone who can handle the ball a little and give Jeff and Fatts a breather.
No one is going to transfer just to play half a season, 88. A year and a half, unlikely but possible.

Re: General Recruiting Discussion/Comments
I guess that I wasn't clear. If we don't get a transfer before this upcoming semester and still have two scholarships available for next year then I would like them to add a grad transfer big for next season. I expect them to find a freshman big as well for next year. We would benefit from the experience factor and the ability to recruit another freshman for 2021. I have no expectations of the coaching staff bringing in a player who is eligible this upcoming semester.rambone 78 wrote: ↑4 years ago I would prefer a guard transfer. Re: General Recruiting Discussion/Comments
There aren’t any players eligible immediately. Some times a recruit declares early and enrolls in Jan just to get the development with the team (and they redshirt). Rhody last year did it with Mading and UConn did it with Akok.

So you’d have this new guard take minutes from Russell and Dowtin?rambone 78 wrote: ↑4 years ago I would prefer a guard transfer. Anybody with some quality experience.

I like the minutes they are getting just as they are.
