I'm thinking of changing my name to "Mr. Sunshine" or "Mr. Happy".

Whaddaya think, Rod?

Sweetness and light.

Seashells and balloons.

My theme song, will be "Ode to Joy".

Actually, I have a granddaughter named Sunshine. What an awesome girl and name. Her and her family [my older son] just moved to Boston from Utah. Huge Sox fan, he is.

Yes, Rambone, granddaughters do bring sunshine, and it's an apt name.
Good for you that they moved back from Utah.
Mine live with me, and I'm forever thankful that they do.

Now my younger son, and his wife and 5 kids, want to move out here too. They can't afford it, though. It's a tough move for their wives, who have been Mormon all their lives, and have big families in Utah.

I had thought about retiring out there, but it doesn't look like that will happen.

I'll tell you, if I could advise anyone, it's safer for young kids growing
up in this increasingly violent world, to live in Utah, rather than in urban-suburban
areas of the East.
It's scary out there, and I fear the type of world these kids will grow up in.
My daughter is a Mormon, and she plans to go West after I go. Not Colorado, though.
Must be something in the air our there.
Me? I'm Rhode Island born, and I'll die Rhode Island dead.

I agree Rod, although having been out there a few times now, they have a lot of issues just like here. The mountains and scenery are amazing though.

They are coming out here due to his new job. Supposed to make a ton of money. He'll need it, to live here and feed his family. I have a feeling though, that they'll end up back in Utah at least part of the time, once his contract is up.

Maybe he'll have a house in both places, if it all works out.

I think we are all in agreement that Jordan Hare would have helped this team this year. To what degree seems to be debateable. Count me in the camp that considers him a huge loss to our frontcourt. As someone mentioned earlier, the growth between freshman year and sophmore year is really when you see the most improvement. He gives you the shot blocking presence that neither Gil or Ifeanyi have, and runs the floor better than any of our big men. His offensive skill set around the basket also appeared to be improving based on reports from practice and the Italy trip. Jordan was placed in a tough spot last year as a true freshman with not much help around him, especially with interior defense. I was really looking forward to seeing his development this year and felt he was the wildcard to how far we would go, especially being surrounded by a better team and another year of coaching from our staff. To me, Gil and Ifeanyi have not been as advertised, and you always know what you're gonna get with Aaman, throw Jordan into that mix with Hassan and you have a different dynamic to work with. I'm guessing if Jordan was a Hurley recruit, he'd be more appreciated on this board.

Would Jordan have been a starter this year? The fact that this is even debatable puts his value in perspective.

If you had to lose either EC or Jordan which one would you keep? I would keep EC but others might disagree. Again, this places his value in perspective.

Basketball is a team game and Jordan would have made URI a better team and made the difference 1or 2 games that we lost. Iffy has been inconsistent and our front-court has been foul prone.

I don't think that there is a 20% difference in the opinion of 80% of the posters on this board about the value of Jordan Hare. The others have a tea party member mentality and wish they could primary those with whom they disagree from this board.

Just wish this whole deal is resolved soon. One way or the other.

This twisting in the wind stuff is getting wearisome.

Once we know he's gone for sure, we can stop with the "what-ifs". Myself included.

If he comes back, I would welcome him back of course, as long as he's committed to finish his career here. If we could even know that.

Yeah, my 3rd and last wife [I have to number them, that's sad] cheated on her first husband to be with me.

Rod, I kind of knew that, but I was willing at the time to take that chance.

At 62, I'm not willing to do that again. I have several friends who are living with women, but not married. If I get to that point again, that's as far as it's going to go.

Someone said, that to have a successful marriage, you really need to get to know them BEFORE you tie the knot. Become friends first. Have similar interests. All that stuff.

Makes perfect sense. Alas, life ain't perfect.

A few years ago, my then girlfriend moved in with her 250lb.12 year old monster son.
All I ever heard was,"It's not MY house."Really? She never did a blessed thing to make it her own.
She moved from a shitty 3rd floor walkup in Pawtucket.
I built a room on the house, on her suggestion that we have a room of our own that nobody lived in.
Fine. It's beautiful.
So, she pissed and moaned that the closet I built wasn't big enough.
After she moved out, she never even used the closet in her apartment bedroom!
Can't win.
In the end, though, it worked out, because without that room, there would not have been room here for my daughter and her two kids to move in.
Life is strange.

Thank God for family, eh Rod?

That's what keeps me going nowadays. My family TOTALLY supported the divorce, they could barely tolerate her themselves.

Now I have my sons [from my 1st marriage] and their families, both here and in Utah. So things are working out.

Well, we made it work for years, but when the cracks started to show, they got bigger and more numerous, instead of working to close them.

Some marriages seem to end overnight, but there are underlying reasons that take time to build before that happens.

Ah well.

That would be nice, although he'll likely stay home for the holidays, and come back after Jan. 1st. 2nd semester doesn't start until mid-month I believe.

That's my guess anyways, if he really is coming back.

Let's put this way: If he comes back, it most likely helps in the APR dept., and helps the team the last couple months of the season. That can't be a bad thing imo.
