Interesting reading on the Detroit Message Board.
Seems they are interested in him being at Sunday's game as they hope to get him to transfer there

I agree with Rod. It was OK to litigate whether or not he would help us or not. Of course, he would. But, nothing left to talk about here other than if he is on campus in January or not. That will be the Hyman Roth money on the table moment.

What I'm about to say will really flip some of you out:

If we had JH for the first 11 games, we would be 9-2.

Better defense, a little more offense. 3 close losses would be 3 close wins. Even with the shitty FT shooting.

Sorry if this offends or sounds like sour grapes. In my mind, there's no doubt.

If anyone were to ask Dan, I'll bet he would agree.

Having one other guy that is on par with the guys in our front court would add a few points, rebounds and probably take a few points away. I bet we would have won more. Granted its all over now and doesn't matter because we are 6-5 and struggling to look respectable. So Hare is a dead horse for me and I was a big fan of his.

Even in the event he comes back, no way he is in shape and a difference maker. Hes just not that good to take off 2 months and comeback and help.

Then we would have to hold our breath to see if he makes it to next season. His ship sailed. Its just too bad because getting an athlete like him is tough for us.

I can't see the having a kid would be something that would hinder a college kid from playing ball. There has to me more to it.

KIJ had a wife and kid and played. If memory serves, I sat behind her during the Wake Forest game and scared the hell out her. After a bottle of JD, my language toward officials and opposing players could be viewed as obscene. Ah, to be 19 again.

'78- I agree with you wrt Hare. The lack of depth in our forecourt has been a major problem. If Gil plays as aggressive D as many here want, he will get in foul trouble and sit with no reasonable replacement. We need Gil at both ends since our outside shooters can't hit the broad side of a barn door. Iffy has been inconsistent, Mike is down for a few games, Gil is getting over an ankle sprain. Jason is gone and Hassan is just becoming serviceable.

Jason was a freshman last year and he showed promise at time. The biggest jump in ability usually happens between one's freshman and sophomore year. I'm not saying Jason would be an all-conference performer, but he would have improved this team with a few more points, rebounds and blocks each game from what we are getting.

Aggressive D?

He was standing with his back to the basket near the free throw line. The guy he was supposed to be defending was standing all alone underneath the basket signing autographs.

I'm going to relate a story I heard at the Alpine kickoff event.

I went there, like most, to soak in the optimism that abounded that night.

While I was there, I happened to run into an old friend, who I hadn't seen a quite a while, but who is MUCH closer to the program than I ever was or will be.

I asked this guy, hey what's up, we're going to be pretty good this year, huh?

You know what he said to me?

Nope, we're going to suck! Surprised the shit out of me.

I asked him why? He said, because we've just lost our best player! Well I knew who he was talking about, but I didn't really believe him at the time.

You know what, he knew what he was talking about, from what has happened since. I know most of you won't believe that, but look what's happened.

I'm not going to reveal any names, just the story.

Well, if this guy thinks Hare is our best player, then he knows nothing
about basketball. That doesn't surprise me. Over the years, I found that
because someone has money, which gives them access to the program, doesn't
always mean they know anything about the game.
At least I don't get this baloney talking to Terino and Milan.
But, feel free to keep making endless negative posts.

I would LOVE to hear what Terino thinks. I've met him, but I don't know him.

And I didn't say I agree with what the guy said, it shocked me too.

Whether it's sour grapes or not, it's a story. I didn't make it up.

I agree with rod on this one. First, no player no matter what his importance is the difference maker between being good and sucking. So your friend, rambone, dished you a major piece of exaggeration. As for Terino, he would never talk like that or agree with that sentiment. Terino is one intense and deeply understanding dude. The fact that Terino is back with this program is a bigger development than the loss of Hare will ever be.

Very true, Obadiah.
Terino is a guy who tries to solve problems and is proactive,
not reactive.
While Rambone's friend was hand wringing at the Alpine, I was with
Terino when he asked Dan if there was anything he needed help with.

Come by and say hello!
I have lots of Ram fans that I've become acquainted with because of
this site.
One guy in the hall told me,"Hey, I read you all the time. I don't post. I didn't like you much at first,
but now I do."
One woman at the West Valley CC told me ,"So, you're Rod from Cranston? Well I think you're
a pain in the ass!"
Guess it beats the crank phone calls and hate mail I used to get from people who heard me on the old
radio shows.

Rod, Bobby T is a big fan of Jordan Hare. Not sure why you think otherwise. The first time I met the kid was at Bobby's restaurant and in numerous convos with him we both agree losing him is a big loss to this year's version of the Rams and the future. Unless you see a bunch of 6'10 jumping jacks on our roster or in our recruiting pipeline it makes little sense to downplay what he "could" have added to our program. The "could" is the unknown, I dont know, you dont know, none of us do...we never saw what improvements were made from FR to SO year bc he hasnt stepped foot on the court. The amount of FR bigs that make major jumps for their SO years is a long long list.

My point was, correctly, Bob would never say Hare was our best player. Then again,
I don't, nor would I ever claim to speak for him.
I was with him one on one for three hours at the Alpine and I didn't hear him going gaga
over Jordan Hare. He didn't seem distraught over it. Maybe he told you otherwise?
Nobody was happy that he left.
Again, I'll root for the players who want to be here and are on the team.
Hare left on his own. Crying about coulda, woulda, shoulda, makes as much
sense as crying about the losses of Holton and Baron last year, which in my
mind, are far greater losses, than losing Jordan Hare.
