Our only hope for getting back to normal is for the dumbness to keep collapsing on itself until it fully implodes. And, looks like we're making progress.

I mean, we were without question in a different phase back then, pretty hard not to see how.

Right now we have New variant that spreads a ton faster, potentially evading vaccines, vaccine efficacy is declining, not everyone has a booster.

This is the type of thing that I strongly disagree with and is an overreach:

I'm fully vaccinated and had COVID within the last few weeks. After having COVID, I had an antibody test done and, no surprise, my results were off the charts. Why on earth would I then get a booster? It will likely provide no additional protection for me or for students in a similar situation. With little to no benefit the risk/reward of taking the booster is clear. There are likely MANY people who currently fit this profile.

The article mentions that those who are exempt must test twice per week. Neither the booster nor twice per week testing should be required if your antibodies remain high.

This type of blanket mandate, without considering each person's individual medical situation, is what upsets people.

They're not the only conference. The ACC has the same policy, and I'd be willing to bet that a few other conferences do as well.

What upsets people is non-medical people drawing conclusions about whether they should get the booster without talking to their doctor or a medical professional.
What upsets people is people thinking that we have the time and resources to consider each individual person's medical situation. Really? We should have a hotline that every person can call into to make their own case. And who is staffing the hotline? And training the staff? And paying the staff? And how many individuals do you anticipate being out there?

Actually, it was my Doctor who told me not to get the booster based on my results. She’s the one who ordered the test for me!

So yes, there must be an exemption process. Let people make the decision in consultation with their Doctor.

I don’t know the percentage but I would assume significant amount of students still have high antibody levels and the risk/reward of taking the booster makes little sense. These students should be able to opt out of the booster as long as they can continue to show high antibody levels.

I actually don’t think there should be any mandates of any kind at this point. But I wanted to show my willingness to compromise.

Stop it. Understood "science changes"...he lied and it had nothing to do with science. Unbelievable that in a world where people can get cancelled for a next to nothing something that happened decades ago...people want this liar to be their family doctor...

Keep reading the doomsday and fear porn reports, I’m sure it’s making your life a whole lot more enjoyable.
Those reports also said 3%+ death rate and millions who would die last year alone.

Kind of like when Al Gore told me in 2000 Florida would be underwater by 2013.
Fear porn.

It's all manipulation with the numbers that the fear-mongering media spends all their time on. "There are 3% more cases than last week".... they're also doing more testing and taking DAYS to give people their results. I'm not poo-pooing the disaster this all is for those who are sick and at hospitals, but at this point it is insanity. Doing the same thing over and over again expecting the same result.

Three years ago, did you care if your neighbor or your barber had a flu shot? Nope. Now people are wearing hazmat suits. Give it a rest we used to play in dirt as kids. Now we are going to have a bunch of people with weakened immune systems.

Based on actual statistics that aren't fear porn, Covid isn't very high on the list of things that can kill you.

Invest in pharma
Congress has made God only knows how much in their stock portfolios due to how much of a moneymaker this has become for big pharma.

Back about 20 years ago, Pfizer was marketing all their opioids to Doctors, incentivizing the doctors to write prescriptions for their patients. They handed out opioids like they were Starbursts. This literally is what created the opioid epidemic.

See how many times big pharma has been given immunity by the government for umpteen lawsuits in the past.

Yes, for 2020. You also have to pay attention to when the news tells you "covid related" deaths, which account for a large portion of the number provided here.

New York City - highly vaccinated………..

NYC Covid hospitalizations increasing steadily and dramatically since Thanksgiving.

Today at press conference “we were surprised by Omicron”.

Not near enough testing capacity available.

Just so people understand...

A 70-year old lives a normal life with asthma. It's a precondition. He contracts Covid and dies. He didn't die because of asthma. He died of Covid. If Covid wasn't around, he would've lived to see tomorrow with his asthma. That's why Covid would be labeled his cause of death.

And just because he's 70 years old, we shouldn't ignore him and say "well he's old anyway, he was gonna die soon. I'm young and I'll survive Covid so who cares about him? I'll live my life." That is a selfish way to look at the world. (My parents are in their upper 70's...they're doing fine. They've got plenty more living in them. They should not be disregarded by a younger generation who thinks Covid can be ignored and the spread is irrelevant.)

Biden's July 4th speech was titled "Celebrating Independence Day, an independence from COVID-19", and he said his administration "gained the upper hand" against the virus.

So it's not just the "orange idiot's" rhetoric. They all do it.
Did Biden suggest drinking bleach or putting a light up your ass?

Those so-called 'reports' that COVID would be ending soon.....by Easter.......when the warm weather comes....etc., etc., were from the orange idiot, so if you believed him, that's on you.

I honestly don't know where people get there "news" from, or who they listen to. But maybe it's time to find another source of information?

Yes. It is. Politicians lie all the time...only a fool would expect something different. I would not expect my family doctor to lie to me.
Well, politicians don't lie about a national elections and trying to subvert democracy and our government...until now.

Your disdain for Fauci, doctors, scientists, medical professionals, etc. is misplaced. These people spend their whole (non-political) lives trying to help society via public health. Show some appreciation for these people instead of acting like a know-it-all.
I don't know it all. Never said I did. I'm just pointing out that you would like to have a confessed liar as your family doctor. I don't have disdain for anyone...Just because he's liar, doesn't mean I have disdain for a whole profession.

Hospitalizations are going up due to the unvaccinated. Omicron isn't less serious for them.

More fear mongering.

Fauci funded gain of function research in Wuhan China. On coronavirus to be specific. Exactly where this started. So, I will believe what I see, you can go on believing what you are told.
OK, Rand Paul. You don't know what you're talking about.

Nice try. The NY Post?? A tabloid owned by Rupert Murdoch? You can't be serious.

Let me guess...the Pizzagate story was true, too?! And Seth Rich was murdered by Democratic party operatives?

Oh, I'll correct for BillyBoy. Here's word-for-word what Dr. Wizard aka Pumpkin Face said so articulately, as he always does:

"A question that probably some of you are thinking of if you’re totally into that world, which I find to be very interesting. So, supposedly we hit the body with a tremendous, whether it’s ultraviolet or just very powerful light, and I think you said that hasn’t been checked, but you’re going to test it. And then I said supposing you brought the light inside the body, which you can do either through the skin or in some other way. (To Bryan) And I think you said you’re going to test that, too. Sounds interesting, right? And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning, because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it’d be interesting to check that, so that you’re going to have to use medical doctors with, but it sounds interesting to me. So, we’ll see, but the whole concept of the light, the way it kills it in one minute. That’s pretty powerful."

So he's just rambling about injecting a disinfectant. Light inside the body thru the skin or some other way? Hmm, what other ways are there? So poison control centers and chemical makers had to go on the offensive to tell people not to ingest disinfectants...because that's what people took away from his moronic comments! (You remember Dr. Birx sitting there in disbelief, squirming, trying not to make eye contact.)

My news comes from watching the briefings. I didn't get it 2nd hand. I saw it and heard it all by myself...
