With all the complaining about the state of college hoops today, there's one thing that's being overlooked.

That's the general competence of the refs. It's bad. Everywhere.

When it's gotten so bad that it's influencing the national semifinals, the NCAA has to somehow address the problem.

It's probably only going to get worse, unless something is done......

It is not that this miss calls, or call phantom fouls, it is they are so inconsistent. Certainly from ref to ref; i have no idea any more of what a foul is when a player goes to the basket and is bodyoffed his approach and there is no call- Huh!! and then some ticky tack foul when I guy slaps a hand that has the ball.

Well, in Rhody's case late in the season, if they so much as breathed on an opponent, the refs blew the whistle.

They were VERY consistent then. Tweet, tweet, tweet.........
