They are going to score around 40 points in the second half.
Can you imagine if they hit a few of those shots from 2 feet.
Not to mention Fatts hitting more than 2 shots.
Much better 2nd half.

Too big of an early hole and growing pains on full display in the last 2+ minutes. I’m old enough to remember how tough it is to finish games, especially on the road, without a roster full of guys who’ve been through the wars. (Unfortunately, so is my three year old.)

Tonight was a good reminder for me where we are at and how far this group has to go. Still think they can get there by February/March.

Everything about this game was entirely predictable other than Fatts' nightmare of a game. Even the poor execution at the end. That's going to happen with a young team.

This was going to be a tough game on the road and you flat out need your leaders (Dowtin, Fatts, and Cyril) to show up to be competitive. I'm sure Fatts would be the first to admit that he needs to be better for us to have a chance to win a game like that.

Take the lumps, move on to the next game, watch for improvement. This should be a fun year of seeing the strides young guys make as the season wears on. But that means there are going to be some ugly performances early on. This was exactly the game where that was bound to happen.

Came here. Saw some "we sucks" and a reference to Jim Baron.

Jesus.

It's a team of freshmen and new starters. Everyone's adjusting to a new role. Fatts had an off night - no shit. I watched him undress the NPOY on the biggest stage last year.

Worry if they're playing like this in February. Wild to jump to conclusions after game #2.

The touches he got were point blank at the rim and he missed everything.

If my Top 100 big man misses multiple point blank back to back layups I don’t know if I would keep feeding him either.

That is too bad. I thought these guys had a better feel for the game.

This reminds me of last year at Nevada and Bama. They never valued the ball enough. Then the game was over.

Encouraging that we still had a chance at the end. Kept fighting.

I am not surprised about the outcome. The big win over a really bad Bryant team masked the problems this team has. Bad FT shooting is a sign that your overall shooting is not stellar. In both the Pace exhibition and the Bryant game I was not impressed with the performance of the incoming players. in this game they produced 7 points!

Its November with 4 freshman, CT hasn't played in a year, Fatts in a very different roll than last year. A new coach and a bunch of young kids in their 2nd game, their first road game and along with just beginning to get acclimated with college-level play and playing together as a unit. Whule College of Charleston may not have looked like great team, they are not a bad team either and obviously are very good at home. So while it was a very frustrating game to watch and it's never enjoyable to lose, basically every team in the nation will be a different team in December January and then February. We will be too. Hopefully we will be continuously getting better.

But again it's November 13th, I'm not ready to throw these kids under the bus or think it's the end of the world and going to be a bad year. It's a very long season and I am willing to be patient as I think a few others should be. I think these guys will be just fine with time.

Step off the ledge, it's Game 2 and this is a young team playing against a good team with 2 veteran scorers on the road. Guys literally had deer in headlights looks at times. This isn't all that surprising. Two things that can be better -- Fatts needs to play off the ball and let Dowtin facilitate the offense. Multiple times this year we have come out in the opposite look, I think Fatts is much better off the ball. Jeff has to be aggressive but not hunt shots, he is best when he lets the game come to him. When we need a hoop you can tell he feels that pressure to score, and he forced some stuff tonight. Not sure why we didn't see more Tate tonight. Harris will get there. Martin had his moments.

Its almost unfair to Fatts that he is put in a position to lead. I feel he is not emotionally ready to handle that as he tends to rush things. In a perfect world, he'd still have Jared to teach him how to lead on the job.

Frustrating in that the game was there for the taking at the end. Definitely some teachable moments. Not sure about Preston's 14 footer or CL's baseline jumper. Cyril was a beast, but i don't want to see him putting the ball on the floor or trying to move with the ball 15 feet from the basket. He has to catch and lay in or put back missed shots. Not sure why he was the focal point of the offense the last 2 minutes.

As for Fatts, shooters gotta shoot. If he makes one he probably makes another. As bad as his night was, he had a decent look from 3 that would have made it a 3 pt game with 2 mins left.

Whoever says this team sucks....Fatts should take the bus home...etc....Thinking the team can do without your support...

Definite growing pains game.

I'll say this much though, Fatts needs to be reeled in a little and Harris needs more touches.

But those are part of working out the kinks
