Matthews is clearly hurt. He hasn't been the same player in a long time. In fact I don't think he's ever been the same since his injury 2 years ago, even though he's shown small bursts, like in the A10 tournament last year.

He's their best player overall, forget today. I'm not trying to rip Garrett but if Garrett was still the starter and Dowtin was on the bench they'd be a fringe tournament team. There isn't another player on the roster you can say that about.

I got ripped a long time ago for criticizing players so I stopped. But his play does frustrate me. I feel like there's certain guys that you can't criticize. Jarvis Garrett being another one. When's the last time he's even been a serviceable player?

Jarvis was fine before our slump.
Took over the Davidson game at home and was a sure bet from three the whole year.
He was also one of the main reasons we beat providence and stayed in the game at Alabama.

agree that his play has been poor, but I'm reluctant to blame it on injuries. he's made enough plays to show he isn't hurt.

We thankfully made our free throws to close it out. Big run to end the game after VCU had went ahead. Gutted it out. Dowtin was huge today. Hopefully this game gets them back on the track they were on several weeks ago. Should at least be a confidence boost.
