Watching Gonzaga Loyola Marymount right now
Yikes
Zags lead 68-28 at the half...
And LMU beat them a few weeks ago!
College basketball is insane
Oh and Drew Timme has only two points so they're doing all of this without him.

Re: 2022-23 Men's Games of Interest
Reef, I think so too. Much more at stake for Dayton in conference.
As an aside…I was looking at the Net Ratings and noticed that 7-8 lower rated conf’s than the A10 have at least one team with a higher Net than Dayton (A10 top Net team) - including Yale at 69 (A10 Net 12, Ivy Net 13).
Real rough season for the A10. Ooph

Fordham won easily. Beginning to think , that with the home town fans there in Brooklyn , they could actually win the tornament

No one who was at the Ryan center could have known that, until they left. Which is funny, since, I was sitting at a table in the concourse at halftime and a lady came up and asked for the wifi password. I almost laughed so hard, I could barley talk, before letting her in on the secret that, this is a secret nuke site and the walls are lined with impenetrable steel reinforced concrete...no signals to get in or out.Jdrums#3 wrote: ↑1 year agoFordham getting drilled against VCU by 18 with 12 min left in game.NYGFan_Section208 wrote: ↑1 year agoit would be interesting to track that Rams Rams matchup during the Rams game today, but...thanks to Ry-fi...no connection to the outside world once you enter the building

Yes, was watching the patients game. AD had to go to PA mic to tell student patients not to. Cooley looked pissed.

Yes JD, none of the top tier A10 teams have really separated themselves.
St Joes' after coming off a tough 1-point loss at Davidson will be hungry at home.
The Hawks have a very talented backcourt with 3 solid players plus Obinna in the middle.
VCU will have their hands full tonight at the Hagan Arena.

Ooph. VCU put a beat down on Joe’s 88-63 in Philly.
Richmond squeezes by SLU by 3 at home. SLU, what the heck happened to you this year? SMH

Nunn had a career game for VCU, 31 pts (12-13 FG, 7-7 3PT)
(C) Obinna didn't play tonight for St. Joe's.
Yuri Collins had 17 assists in their loss at Richmond.

Richmond victory was likely the result of a desperation 3 that banked in during the last minute.

URI WBB plays at Fordham tonight 7pm ESPN +
URI is tied for most wins at 22 and most conference wins at 13. This team could set the all time win records tonight.

Re: 2022-23 Men's Games of Interest
Billiken fans cannot be very pleased with Travis Ford these days. Their postseason chances do not look good right now for either the NCAA or NIT with an NET rank of 100. They have just a single NCAA and two NIT appearances with zero postseason wins in the previous six seasons under Ford. That is not a good record for a school that has top notch facilities and pays a hefty salary.

Billikens and Flyer fans are both very unhappy. And there is a decent portion of their fan base that wants their respective coaches fired.RF1 wrote: ↑1 year ago Billiken fans cannot be very pleased with Travis Ford these days. If you read their tweets or message board you would think they were 8-23...but it's all relative and they should have high expectations given the resources at both schools. Going on 8 years since Dayton won an NCAA game. 9 for St.Louis. 7 for VCU.
You want to dig into why the perception and metrics of the A10 have struggled of late look no further. The marquee programs haven't pulled their weight. The league has always been overly reliant on the top tier (Temple, Xavier, etc) to perform better on the national stage and raise the profile of the league.

Re: 2022-23 Men's Games of Interest
Add in the lack of commitment from SOME other A10 bb programs that have the potential to step up - yet do not - to sufficiently play and compete on the level of Dayton, VCU and SLU so that the conference doesn’t fall off when those three programs faulter and that spells trouble or a 1-2 bid 11-13th ranked Net conference future.
If those 3 programs begin to slide back towards the pack or, more precisely perhaps, get dragged back towards the pack, the conference will rarely ever see 3 bids again and maybe not even 2 regularly.
The A10 needs multiple programs to get its shit together or bow out.
ETA: I do not include LaSalle in the “potential” group due to their unfortunate, significant financial issues. That said, I hope the conference is advising LaSalle with a plan to stay (but be competitive in basketball periodically at least) or exit gracefully as not to cause more financial hardship in the short term.

Yes. As repeated on here, Kolek was interested in playing at URI. Also don't forget Ousmane who decommitted when Cox brought in the twins.
He is having a nice year starting at center for an excellent North Texas team (23-5).
