I always love the under the radar overachieving mid-majors like those two teams. Really easy to root for.

Can't remember a time where you had two random mid majors like that in the top 25 at the same time.

Charleston isn't super surprising. They've been solid for a while, but Florida Atlantic came out of nowhere
2018-19 with Wofford and Buffalo?
I dont remember them both being ranked this late in the season
19 and 15 at week 20

Me ? I would have left after the first winter there. Too cold and too much snow.

Him ? To spend time with the Mrs, perhaps?

On second thought…I shouldn’t assume the Mrs wants him around. I take that back.

Funny - even a rebuilding year has us having games of interest. #4 is possible!

A Fordham loss puts us a game back of them.
A Davidson loss keeps them out of the pack.
The Loyola/Dayton matchup SHOULDN'T have any impact on us - can't see Dayton falling back into the 4th spot.

Syracuse ended up losing to UVa, its 3rd straight defeat, and is currently 13-10 with an NET rank of #101. The Orange lost to both Colgate and Bryant at home earlier in the OOC. They still have a lot of work to be done before NCAA Tournament consideration.

Great let’s keep them far and away from the big dance

In the A10 I think all 3 favorites win if there was an upset it will be Davidson

My sarcastic prediction of the night…

Fordham wins and the schools administration gets so enamored that they decide to pump the program with money, build a new arena and go full hog, NCAA or bust into the future.

New arena, ? They started doing renovation on the “ bleachers” at one end of the court last year. Still not completed. A tiny gym is even smaller now! I think they had about 1800 last game. Also, administration says that they do not have room on campus to build a “Ryan Center” type of facility. They would have to find a piece of dirt off campus which will be expensive if they want something kinda safe. When they make that commitment you will know they are serious. Don’t hold your breath!!

Nevertheless, I will not be surprised if Fordham wins this one at home. Calibrate my opinion since I was the one who said Fordham had an outside chance to be in the top four at the beginning of the season .

Why do they need a new arena when they can lease out the Barkley Center? Have they ever played there or MSG?

Going to OT.

EVERY coach who doesn’t foul in that situation is a trying to get too cute. Don’t care if it’s Coach K or Coach Q coaching CYO.

Baffling why it’s not done 100% of the time.

The NCAA updates them each morning and posts them here:
https://www.ncaa.com/rankings/basketbal ... t-rankings

Hint for A-10 teams - click on the CONFERENCE column header. It then sorts all schools by alphabetic conference ID order then NET rank. just book mark the link above and you can check it out any time you want.

Currently Keith Urgo may be the most deserving to win A10 COY for the unexpected season he is having at Fordham.

When was the last time a 1st time ever HC had that honor in the A10?
Not totally sure but I think it was Claude English (URI) in 1980-81, actually he tied with Mike Rice that year.

I actually find the opposite, that coaches have gotten too cute with fouling too early. Seen at least two games this year where the team was up 3 with 10 seconds left and lost in regulation - Game 1 was Ohio St and Rutgers (I think), Game 2 was last weekend, FSU and Clemson. Both losing teams fouled too early, missed a free throw, and gave the opponent way too much time for a GW. If you are going to foul, to me it really needs to be no more than 4-5 seconds. FSU fouled with over 9 seconds. Ohio St I think was 6-7 seconds. To me that's dumb strategy. Up 3, the worst that should happen is OT.

Oh yes, we’re thinking the same way.

Definitely shouldn’t foul to too early, I’d agree and say around 5 seconds is when you should foul.

And if you do foul early, box out and rebound. Offensive rebounds off miss FTs drive any coach batshit insane.

It helps explains why there have been no games played for the A-10 vs MWC Challenge and likely never will be. The A-10 has very much fallen in stature over the last few seasons. The MWC now sees little gain in playing a challenge against it.
