My days of general basketball knowledge may be behind me, but I'm guessing that when you can't hit a free throw, you probably shouldn't be chucking it up from three point land either.

key stat: 0-5 (combined, DJ and Harris? from 3)

If any of you thought we were going to blow the doors off of SHU, you weren’t being realistic. It’s a game of runs, and this isn’t an NAIA school.

One of DJ’s 3’s were as shot clock was expiring...he is a rhythm spot up shooter. One he’s sees one fall...uh oh.

Jermaine can shoot, he’s just having a hard time proving it.

DJ is such a good 3 point shooter that the defense will not let him get an easy look.

I'm guessing "Hey, Jermaine, you were complaining about your bum foot this week, so feel free to let loose from outside to showcase your fantastic skills" wasn't part of the pre game strategy meet this week.

In both Seton Hall's earlier games they started out every slow and then came back strong. We need to withstand their charge and play up-tempo, we will struggle in a half court game with them. I hope Carey's injury isn't serious, has anyone heard? We may end up having to activate Tres Berry for depth if he is out for awhile.

Gotta try giving Fatts some help down low where he is over matched on defense. Also would like to see someone on the foul line when playing against the zone.
Carey must have been injured during practice since he looked good vs SF the other day.

I think he’s been fine. 2 “3s” with his foot on the line, bummer. Scoring has been well distributed

IMO, Harris doesn’t have the mechanics to shoot threes. I don’t like the release.
When Seton Hall plays man to man, they overplay a lot. Rhody needs to look for back cuts.

Similar to the game against them in 2017. Got off to a lead early and had to battle it out in the second half.

The only problem I see with that, is I get the feeling that it isn't just about "runs" for Seton Hall, per se. Rather, they are systematically figuring URI out:

This works against Rhode Island
That doesn't work against Rhode Island
This was successful against them
That wasn't successful against them
This had a big impact against them in the first half, let's do more of that
That was awful in the first half, let's avoid that

So those "runs" are going to start happening more frequently as they solve the rubic's cube. You know they want to see more of that Harris three ball in the second half if they can somehow force that one.

What's our strategy?

3000, I haven’t seen a good basketball game this season that didn’t consist of a huge run. It happens. If we were down, like vs ASU, I fully suspect we’d do the same. It’s the nature of the beast.

Wonder if the game plan was try and create more shots because of their length inside? Otherwise just strange how little our guards are attacking the rim
